The Divisional Charts are important for many things. They are important for getting more detail from what you already have arrived at in your analysis of the Rasi Chart or D1. We must remember that the Rasi Chart is a Varga. The Vargas allow one to flesh out further areas of life. Usually and more specifically, the more internal way a person relates to that area of life.
The Vargas are an aspect of every Sign. When we look at an astrological chart, we often get caught up in the idea that the main Varga, the Rasi Chart, which tells what is going to show up on a person’s path in life. This is the chart most people use because it is the ideal chart for assessing a person’s life trajectory. But they don’t often use the Divisional Charts.
The Divisional Charts are aspects of different areas of an individual's life. The mistake people make is they look at the Rasi Chart and do a reading just from it. They barely or in a cursory way look over the Divisional Charts with little attachment to their importance.
This is because there isn’t a lot of in-depth literature on how to use the Vargas. There is also a lot of confusion around what each Divisional Chart actually is.
The Vargas are aspects of the Rasi, extrapolations of the main chart. Each Varga comes from the main chart. Craig Hoyle, (Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Student), gives an in depth review of the vargas. Enjoy!
