When you taped the mold down you overlapped the tape and then had a problem pulling the white paper off. That more than likely caused the tape not to lay flat, creating small gaps for the silicone to leak. We all learn from our mistakes. Try it again, I know you will get it. Thanks for sharing and showing all of us what not to do, it saves us all money. LOVE YOU GIRL!!!!!

When i make my molds i just use a plastic container around the size of that doodad you are putting together. The container i use is a container you would put leftovers in or like a tupperware thingy. To release the silicone i use a spatula. The spatula lets me get down the sides and bottom and it pops right out. Im just telling people that you don't need to spend money on contraptions. God bless

Sherry, thanks for the video! Perhaps using a glass base instead of plastic would work better. The glass is solid and maybe the mold frame would sit on it better. Hot gluing the frame was a good idea! And, I'll bet the glitter was too chunky, as you suspect. Your time and effort in your projects, albeit if they don't always turn out as planned, are informative and entertaining. Please keep trying new things and sharing it with us viewers. I really enjoy watching you work with your projects!

it is easier to use rolled out clay-with cookie cutter pressing cookie cutter in to the clay/slightly push ornament into the clay. if you use the form take clay and make a ribbon and push around form. Thanks for the perseverance in this project. Good lessons.

I am wondering if that plastic tray was a bit warped causing that leak. I’ve seen people use acrylic sheets for the base. I’m guessing they are not warped? I agree with others that maybe use a glass base.

Best way to seal your mold do any surface don't use the two-sided tape use Krazy Glue and a sheet of plastic and then use the two-sided tape put it around the Mulligan on top of the plastic then place it on a tray it will never leaked out you'll have a perfect mold
@the.resintist2 жыл бұрын
Also I like let's resin stuff in general their silicone is nice but there is Better. Since I bought and used BBDINO super elastic platinum silicone I won't use anything else the quality is amazing of the degassing and end result and it's finish is superior to ant other I've used and I've used some of the molds I've made many many times too many to remember. It has a aqua blue/green finish in cloud and so shiny it's also very robust and as it states elastic like . Very easy to use and cures it 4/5 hours plus at the moment on Amazon it's almost half price. I wanted to try it for ages but almost £37 for 21 Oz roughly it was pricey then I noticed it had been on offer at £19.46 which is good value for it's quality. Like I said let's resin is great but BBDINO is so much better and it's finish a better more robust product esp if making odd or round molds because of its elasticity . Also it's aqua and white so easy to know when it's fully mixed 👌👌👌👌👌❤️🤞 and thank you for this video very educational and informative and hopefully you get the funny side very entertaining 🤣😂 disasters happen ❤️👌😉

Quick question on making a silicone mold. Lets say i have a licensed figurine that came with paint on it and i want to use it to make a mold. Will the mold pull off the paint? Ive tried searching this up on google and people just only talk about painting a figurine AFTER it was molded, i am surprised this question isnt common.

Is it leaking because you overlapped your two sided tape? That would have made it not a solid seal.

Did you overlap the tape on your corners?? That could be your problem. Liquid will find the smallest Crack to go thru.

The tray is flexible so the moment you lift it up to take it closer to the camera you broke the seal. You can better use glass or just leave it and don't move it.

2 layers of tape on the corners of the mold makes it not mate up to your base
@shellywhite9605 Жыл бұрын
You didn't do things wrong, you just missed a couple of steps. #1 you need to do the silicone or hot glue all around it after you do the double sided tape. #2 you need to do a water test to make sure you are water tight then empty out the water and dry your mold. Now you are set to pour your silicone in the mold.
@Enjoythepour Жыл бұрын
That mold thing is junk. I’ve used the double sided tape, glue gun, extra clips. It leaked every time. On one project, it was 2 tall, secured better than Ft. Knox. Lost the entire thing. I threw it away.
