One criticism about this episode that's always puzzled me a little bit is that people say it felt more like a Matt Smith episode. I can kinda see that what with this scene being so bonkers and the episode as a whole being so light-hearted, but I think it sits right with Capaldi's era fine and I think it's down to the way The Doctor is written in this. Having a sword fight with a spoon while taking it straight-faced for one and for another, he get's some really good dialogue, one of my favourites being: Doctor: You're not serious. Robin: I'm many things, sir, but I'm never that. Robin Hood laughs in the face of all. Ha, ha, ha. Doctor: And do people ever punch you in the face when you do that? Robin: Not as yet. Doctor: Lucky I'm here then, isn't it? You would NEVER hear 11 threaten to knock someone out and it fits really well with the older, moody and more irritable 12th Doctor! Really liked this episode!

This is one of my favourite moments from the Twelfth Doctor so far. It perfectly sums up what Doctor Who is about and who the Doctor is. He's not some swaggering action hero, all bravado, ready to pull out a sword and effortlessly show Robin up. He pulls out a spoon, uses his wits and only just escapes with his life but not his dignity. Perfect!
