@@lanking2n Not quite. The cyberman was, most likely, damaged. From what I saw, the speed increase activates after severe damage. Usually, cybermen don't require that though. It's only used in hostile environments.

The way the doctor thinks to ask questions also really inspires me. It's almost 4th dimensional. He asks why something is the way it is and contemplates all of the ways things could be to fill in the blanks. It's a really useful way to tackle problems, apparently.

I like how the only malfunction was the robots targeting miserable people, but the murderous rage mode itself is a feature, complete with creepy death grin that someone had to consciously design. The episode left me wondering: What were the intended parameters originally, the imagined scenario where you want the robot to display the death grin, execute someone on the spot then casually dump the body into the public food supply in direct view of horrified onlookers?

I'd imagine the rage mode is an emergency threat response; a very scary face that anything even remotely human would recognise as "this thing is doing something very dangerous and serious, stay out of its way". I suspect the robots used it because they thought they were handling a plague; warning people to stay away so they don't get contaminated. Composting the bodies wasn't an intended scenario at all; they were just left with organic waste that wasn't actually harmful, a need to dispose of it, and no sense of how onlookers might react, and automatically generated the most efficient solution

I was thinking, this could very well have been proggrammed for incurable, contagious, lethal diseases as a way to protect the rest of the inhabitants from being infected. Imagine depression, incurable by medicine alone, contagious to some extent, and could lead to suicide. A robot could very well deem it as a plague to be eliminated.

Ive figured it out! So basically i think that the robots are an ai that is trained to find most efficient way to cause hapiness and the doctor said "smiles arent just smiles, they have an effect on your mood" so if you are in a bad mood visibly you might induce that in someone else. So the ai found that the most efficient way to cause hapiness is getting rid of negative emotions or people who visibly show them. Statistically this should be correct, however the ai didnt catch on that killing people would cause even more negative emotions therefor killing everyone.

plus they might only have a basic idea of emotions since they are terraformer focused. so they know sad = bad and can cause health problems so they treat it as a plauge especially when it looks like its transmissable. when the "cures" dont work they resort to killing "carriers". finally they are stuck with biowaste that needs to be disposed of. thus with the limited programming they use the dead as fertilizer. the skulls left out might be their poor attempt at a memorial.

I think it's also kind of a play on toy robots (like the furbys) using the same kind of thing but in the eyes and not the whole face. It's probably just a way of conveying some sort of emotion in an easy way, like an emoji. I really like the concept of the robots and it's an interesting spin to use the emojis showing how we probably won't forget about them in the far future as they became something of history.

THIS is how to write a Doctor Who episode, it's got everything: clever writing/jokes, mystery, action, and interesting characters. Everything more or less flowed naturally and has decent pacing. You can sorta tell near the end they needed to wrap it up but that's not inherently the actor's/writer's fault since show business can be brutal. Looking back at it, any episode from series 10 could easily destroy the entirety of series 11 or 12 or the Flux thing. Every one of them had its own story that functions as its own thing but can be drawn on later in the series, like Missy being in the fault or the Doctor going blind. Series 11 felt like a fever dream tbh.

Most people say that Tennant is their favorite Doctor, and don't get me wrong, he's a fantastic actor and an amazing Doctor, but Peter Capaldi will always be my favorite. There is a roughly inscale Emoji Bot Christmas Ornament out now (though the company only sends to America. For gods sake :/ ) so even if they don't end up making an action figure of one, just stick that on your figure shelf. I mean I've got a random penguin and the running press K.9 on my figure shelf to represent Frobisher and Classic K.9, so when I can hold of that Ornament, I'm gonna get it.
