The Game has stirred up a bit of controversy in the media whether it’s him talking about Eminem, Dr. Dre, or other things. Now I don’t agree with some of the stuff he’s said especially what he said about Dr. Dre but seeing how people were talking about him made me want to rewind the clock back to 2005 when The Game released an absolute classic.

This is my favourite album ever It was real fitting for the time it came out. I remember when how we do first came out I was walking down the street in my town it must have been on the radio and everyone had the same station on it was banging out of cars and stores everyone had it turned up, that track is still hard nearly 20 years later. I’m gonna sound real old now but if you wasn’t a young dude in the early/mid 00s you ain’t gonna get The Game fully he was the voice of the streets back at that time, the raw MC. Thanks for the video, I never heard the original Dreams till now I think it’s a little corny and album version was better but still dope hearing it.

The Game’s comments on the Ed Lover show and on the “The Documentary” track is what fueled Jay Z to diss him in the “Dear Summer” track on Memphis Bleek’s 534 album. We all know the context behind your “one of the greatest rap albums of all time” statement. You’re clearly putting in conversation with the greatest rap albums, which it is not and doesn’t even get mentioned when talking about greatest rap albums of all time. And it’s not subjective because the best rap albums off all time are universally mostly agreed upon which makes it fact based. The order of the greatest rap albums can be subjective. Saying it’s one of MY greatest rap albums of all time makes more sense. Then the subjectivity is valid
@Trilltev
@Trilltev Жыл бұрын
@@tomignacios3668 We? Im specifically talking to YOU. All music is opinion based. Its literally not fact at all. And your statement in itself just solidified my point. Nice try though. Apparently 12 others agree but you are the only one that doesnt.. so does that mean what I said is fact just because "majority rules"? I mean that's what you just said right? If you go through the comments I see a lot of people saying its a classic and top 5 all time.. So apparently its universally agreed upon that your comment is pretty much pointless. And this is all based on your own logic. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

5:26 T.I. is on the original version of Stomp where T.I. & Ludacris diss each other in their verse. According to Young Buck, T.I.'s camp requested that Ludacris change his verse before they clear T.I.'s verse to be on the album and Ludacris had refused, so T.I. got replaced with The Game. Young Buck said "Even throughout the song, you don't hear either one talking about killing each other, it's just more of a competitive thing. Damn, that's hip-hop. So that's why I don't really understand the whole 'changing your verse' part about the situation, but it is what it is. I ended up having to take T.I.'s verse off of my album. I got G-Unit South Records coming pretty soon; I got an artist I've been working with by the name of D-Tay. So y'all can look forward to D-Tay on Stomp Part II. I think it's the perfect setup. Now this is based on interviews from 50 around that time so of course take it with a grain of salt. But yeah it would be a different situation than ja and jay. Also ghost writers exist in hip hop where people do write verses for others nothing wrong with that, but what I was referring to was songs that were already recorded and were made for the purpose of being on the massacre and we're then changed and put on the documentary.

The Documentary was one of my favorite Game albums and G Unit albums. Too bad Game never had a chance to release a second G Unit album, if he did, I really think it would've topped the Doctor's Advocate. All G Unit needed was Game's membership would've loved to see Game go at it lyrically with Fat Joe, Nas, & Jadakiss. Shit would've been epic. What would've made the Documentary a better album tho is if he put that version of "Where I'm From" featuring Dr Dre on it. Added Lloyd Banks and Young Buck on "Runnin" to have that Banks and Buck feature along with Yayo's. "Til The Wheels Fall Off" should've been included on the official version of the album oppose to the deluxe version and "Westside Story remix" featuring Snoop Dogg, including a verse from Snoop, should've been on the album and a G Unit remix to "How We Do". It is what it is I guess.

It was a smart move by Game. He helped put the West back on the map, and that whole album is impeccable( no skips). It was pitched to him as the new NWA, I wouldn't stand around hoping for another moment either. Some times you only get 1 shot, 1 opportunity. Game took his, and blew up. He's a great rapper, just let the success and his manager hype him a little too much. The Game with Dre and 50 could of stayed unstoppable

I remember me being from Los Angeles in a suburb of it anyway hearing about Game before he was signed to Dr Dre And 50 Cent he was making good noise in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, And Vlejo before the Aftermath/G Unit/Interscope sign up. It was not until he got signed to Dr Dre And 50 Cent both though until he became a country known name and once The Documentary was released a worldwide household name. The fact remains and stays that without the push that Dre And 50 each gave Game then I doubt he would of became as huge as he did yeah.

This album kicked the door down for the new west coast era, alot of fans dont understand what The Game did and meant for the West. Real fans know though that the album after this one was actually better overall, The Documentary was just more commercial and had the interscope machine behind it.

I was a huge fan of The Game when he first came out. I even made one of my first mixtape songs to his *"Westside Story"* beat and another sampling his vocals. As a native Californian who loves eastcoast lyrics The Game really resonated with me. But I actually didn't really like his Documentary album that much. He had some classics on there but toneally it seemed like it was all over the place. I personally thought his Doctor's Advocate album was better because it was more consistent and sounded more westcoast. But I still have my Documentary cd. I remember being mad because it was delayed like twice until it finally dropped in January of '05
