Hey john you should do a video on potting pups please! I have the hardest time and it seems to take the longest out of everything the pup needs to complete. If it takes an hour to potty a litter and they need to eat about every two hours it can become very overwhelming for some. My dog is on day 5 of heat. I started the first day from wiping and seeing some light red coloring. Since then she hasn’t had any darker red blood or any dropping. Only when I wipe it has been super light. Previous heats have been normal, this time around she seems to not have a flow. Is this still a normal heat? Is it possible that my dog had her first heat already, when there was no blood or blood tinted discharge, or swelling? My puppy went through a phase of discharge, opaque white with a hint of yellow. I did not notice any swelling, possibly a little. That is now gone, and she is now 9 months. She is a cane corso. She had this phase around 6 months old, for about a month. Then, not until about 8 months old, our male dog (not neutered) has been more and more all over her, sniffing and licking, and even tried to hump her.

I wish I had seen this video earlier! I think I bred my Australian Shepherd too early. She stopped bleeding around day 7 so we bred her days 8, 9, 10. Then days 11-13 she started bleeding again. 14-16 no bleeding and vulva shrinking. I still hope she's pregnant but now I have my doubts. She's 18 months old and that was her 2nd heat.

My new puppy is a Lab/Golden Retriever mix and she’s big for her age in fact the Vet was surprised at how much she weighed for her first shots and said she was 7 pounds bigger than other puppies at that age. She’s been gaining about 2-3 pounds a week and I can tell that she’s going to be a large dog. She looks just like a Yellow Lab. She’s 4 1/2 months and this last week, she’s starting to emit a strong smell of like fish/urine and it’s horrible. I gave her a bath yesterday and all was well until 24 hours later and suddenly got a whiff of that awful smell again. She’s licking her private area with intensity lately and it looks a little swollen. Is she too young to go in to heat or is this a precursor of her body starting to change? She’s about 50 pounds already and has had her Rabies vaccine a couple weeks ago. Only other thing I could think of was that her anal glands are full. I tried to empty them after watching a video but I don’t think I was in the right spot and didn’t want to keep messing around with her and will try to check again in a couple of days but this smell is really strong and not really pleasant. I’ve got blankets on my chair and couch just in case. Thanks for the information. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a new female puppy and I needed a refresher on the heat cycle.

hi from Australia.🦘 I must apologise for my long question. Both her parents have a healthy DNA check and My dog's DNA disease results should be back any day. My large female Labradoodle is 4.5 yrs old and I would like to breed her. She is my service dog but I have to have her spayed before I can get her service dog certificate. This is a legal requirement here in Aus.🐨 As this will be her first litter, do you believe that she is too old to give birth for the first time? She will be mated with a much smaller dog, such as a toy or miniature poodle, or with a medium sized labradoodle. Do you think the smaller size of the male would make puppy delivery easier due to the puppies being a small size? My dog appears to be very maternal as she has had phantom pregnancies at the end of all but one of her heat cycles. She comes into season every 8 to 9 months 🐕🦮
