Hi Ben the abandoned water mill was adapted for use in ww2 would have been manned by the home garud.or dads army as they were called. when you enter the mill there's wall you go through to. a blast wall as it's called. you squeeze past it to get in the main chamber you see those little windows there called loap holes for firing rifles from, also used as a look out tower due to its size you could see miles round there to defend ludham area.And the river from German invasion if they had landed, you have a very important ww2 spitfire fighter base and airfield nearby called RAF ludham airfield. The control tower is now in private hands but couple of airfield buildings are still there, and the airfield is well parts of it are still there. You will find lots of history from ww2 and before in Norfolk. Just a little information great review as always cheers si 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hi Ben, just love your reviews. We went to Willowcroft in the Summer and we totally agree with you, we’d booked on for a week but stopped 3 nights as I just didn’t feel comfy there, thought the same as you, and we were on the same pitch, in the summer the drain away behind the pitch smelt awful too, we packed up quick and moved to to Manor Farm in Happisburgh and it was amazing a cheaper, not sure but I think that’s an all year site. Keep on with your fab adventures 😊😊😊😊

The windmill (drainage mill) constructed in 1877, was adapted for use as a pillbox in WW2, gun slits and a blast wall by the entrance, there should also be a spigot morter point adjacent to the mill. Another great video, thanks.

Another good video Ben. I tried that walk along the river to How Hill but gave up after 3/4 hour and went back. So thanks showing what I missed. There is a quite pleasant walk to Ludham down the road and across the fields, marked with red arrows or something if I recall. Keep up the good work. Have you tried Burham Deepdale?

The sunsets at How Hill are amazing, last time I was at St Bennett’s abbey I had a really spooky event and I’ve not been back since! I don’t mind going down to the church ruins but not the windmill bit! It’s lovely to see north Norfolk areas, I don’t think they get enough credit on KZbin. Maybe I’m bias as we live here lol.

Went to toad hall nice place it was a very hot day and walked along the broad there is a lane at the side of the pub you can get to Ludham from what we have seen on the map

Thanks. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. For me powerbanks are a must because I constantly need camera batteries charged and a bright light in the van for filming. However I did get by fine with a small pocket powerbank for my phone for years without any problem . But naw that I have the big power bank I do watch tv every night so it is a huge advantage and luxury but it’s not essential if you don’t need or use tech on a trip. Thanks for watching 👍🍻🚐

No mate unfortunately not. I can naw hook up an electric blanket to the power bank but that’s it. It will only run my 800w radiator for a few hours so I don’t take the radiator with me. Would love to have a diesel heater one day but just can’t afford it at the moment. Thanks for watching 👍🍻🚐
