​@bernadettecartin I don't care for it when people over anthropromorphise animals, but calling a human baby his sister is sweet and harmless. I am an only child as my half brothers didn't grow up with me and our house wasn't conducive to having a dog but I would have loved to have grown up with one and have a friend to play with. In the very formative years of a child's life, a dog is just as good as a human sibling.

That's sad that you don't think humans have true loving feelings. Luckily I know and have met so many wonderful people who show love, care, kindness and compassion to me and to others around them and even to total strangers. I've volunteered my time to be there and help others in need and I got a lot of hugs and love in return by people I knew forever or just met. I know tons of people since I like to travel a lot and they tell me how their community, their church, their business office donates food, clothing, shoes, shelter and money, to people in need and never expect anything in return. There's so many people out there who do love, give love, adopt babies, toddlers and even teenagers who were abandoned or lost in the system for child care. There's total strangers who have saved and rescued people in danger from car crashes and burning buildings, or just stop to help a person change a tire. It's wonderful to know there are wonderful and awesome people out there. And who love their families and friends unconditionally. The friends and family I have, were all there for me when I had cancer and they still check on me even though I'm cancer free. I love animals and how they are loyal and watch over you. I have had dogs and cats since I was a kid, I just lost my two precious cats six months apart from each other passing away. I was heartbroken, they lived a good long feline life. They sat with me when I have cried or cuddled near me or on my lap to take their 14th nap of the day but animals can't really hug you back tight like a human touch can. You hug them, they don't hug you like a human. They'll nuzzle you and lick you on your face..I too can buy or adopt, rescue or take in a stray animals as many as I want and I'll be so happy but I'm more lucky that my husband hugs everyday, for the last 30 years, that my parents are in their 80s and gives me the best hugs. The way you said your comment, you must hate people. People can be horrible but there's a lot more better people than that. I really am glad that your pets make you happy and I know they adore you and you love them a lot in return. I don't care if you criticize me but realize not all humans are bad.

6:05 I actually intentionally taught my younger dog that because he's extremely pushy when a door is opened. However, I did accidentally teach my old man dog a few years ago "excuse me". When he could still get on the couch, he would always sit in my spot, so if I went to get a tv table to eat while watching tv, I'd put the table in front of him so he'd know I was about to ask him to leave, then I'd bring the food in and say "excuse me", and he'd always either get off the couch or move to the other side. Heavy praises when he did so and maybe a little bit of food too. For context, and for any who'd wonder why I'd make him move at all, it's hard to see the tv from the other side of the couch, which is the only reason I'd ever make him move. If I was not trying to watch tv, he could chill there all he liked and I'd take the other side.

The first two dogs that my parents had didn't sell them on the idea of getting any when me and my sister were born. Then a relative of ours had gotten a litter of puppies from their dog and her husband wanted them gone or threatened some mean things. They invited the family over for tea and we ended up leaving with this jet black puppy without knowing that the next 15 years with him would be magical. When said puppy, Taz, had turned 5 and we decided that he might be lonely whenever the house was empty with me and my sister at school and parents working. We got another dog, not quite a puppy, called Hamish. And his 10 years added soo much more fun and enjoyment to Taz and our lives'. Taz ended up going until he was too old to keep up with his small and stubby stature. He was a Yorkie cross collie so he was naturally a bit disadvantaged with his leg to body ratio. Hamish soon followed him about 9 months later just before Christmas. He was a rescue from an elderly couple who'd bought him from a puppy farm and within the span of December 21st - December 23rd we learned he had had a tumour growing for soo long and it had just begun causing pain and strokes. We couldn't bare seeing him in pain and decided that he was to be put to sleep on the morning of the 23rd. The crematorium was kind enough to work overnight to get him back to us on Christmas Eve. The pair of them lay wrapped in a neat wood woven package tied off with a tartan ribbon representing the clan our family is descendants of, resting in the corner of our living room surrounded by memorabilia and photographs.
