NEVER EVER NEVER apologize for being left handed. It's actually sad that you feel like you need to. I'm left handed and early in my childhood adults tried to teach me the "right" way to do things. Always using a lame excuse that "it is easier." I can learn any skill from right handed people and if they want to learn from me and I'm willing to teach...then no apology. It is actually refreshing to see left handed instructions. With you facing the camera it should look like a mirrored image for right handed people. I teach crochet and always sit face to face with right handers. They usually get it quicker. It works reverse to, as it is easier to learn facing someone else. When both are same handed sit side by side and get the same view. Now that I'm done with my rant...I actually like the video and plan on checking out your online store.

I agree on your statement of never needing to apologize for being left handed. As a right handed person myself, I thought it was really strange to hear her apologize. Why should anyone complain about how I get a certain task done? I’m not going to apologize for being myself, neither should she.

With this method of reroot, is it necessary to use glue to seal the knots on the inside of the head?
@Kizzabell Жыл бұрын
You don't need glue. That is the main advantage of doing it
@docstar84 Жыл бұрын
I skip the knotting part, takes way too much time. Just glue with fabri-tac. It’s so much more secure than knots.
@DollPlanetHair Жыл бұрын
You need glue. This is not the knot method. This is one style using the rerooting tool method. The knot method you would need to thread the plug into the eye of a long needle, push it through the head, through the neck, tie a not (or singe with a flame) then pull plug back to the scalp. That method does not require glue. With a few exceptions like integrity and bratz that have crazy hard heads, you need to use glue.

Can you add hair without removing the existing hair just to give extra thickness?
@DLDietz4 жыл бұрын
I see issues concerning the "knot." If you use your method with a shoe lace, it becomes a large wad, not a knot (he-he). To create an actual knot, start up to 4:22. Then at 4:23 tuck the loose end UNDER the loop and bring it back over the loop and away from the nail. Now insert tool same as before. You can snug this up (but don't tighten) to get it inside the head. Once the knot is inside the head, you can tighten the knot & remove the tool from the head. If this doesn't help, glue grass seeds on the head and create a Chia Barbie.

Are you using their needles? I haven't had this issue and I have 2 of their rerooting tools. I always give my needle about a half inch of room from the top of the tool, and hold it in place while I screw the tool tight. If I don't hold the needle, it'll fall down into the tool. I hope that helps.

@SETHGAZ7 жыл бұрын
Nicole Donovan great question! The answer really depends on which size needle you'll be using. Using The Doll Planet Nylon here is a quick reference chart that you might find helpful🤗 A variety of Needle sizes are needed for rooting based on the size of the hole you are rooting. Even the same head may have a variety of hole sizes. Choose the right size: Size #3 ~ Works great for larger holes on dolls like Crissy & Blythe, or hard headed dolls like Bratz, holes that have been torn, or turning around to use as a Punch to create new holes, good for larger dolls over 14" inches tall, handles about 12-15 strand plug. Size #5 ~ This is the most common needle used for the bulk of the head or neck line, works on most 1/6 scale dolls like Monster High, Ever After high, Barbie, Disney and standard size MLP, handles about 8-10 strand plug. Size #7 ~ The perfect size for rerooting the part line, circumference of the head and groups of small holes, good for detailed areas on 1/6 scale dolls and smaller MLP, handles about 5-7 strand plug. **If you find that you are breaking needles, make sure you are using the right size needle, reduce your plug size and be careful of how hard you push the plug into the head.

Maaaaan I'm SO fricken nervous about doing this! How does the hair not come out when you pull on it while brushing? Is it something you have to be extra gentle while brushing after rerooting?? I just dont want to waste my time/ruin a doll if I'm unsuccessful. Any guidance?? How does it even stay in??
@DollPlanetHair4 жыл бұрын
I still get nervous about rerooting at times! I learned everything through mistakes- MANY mistakes. Definitely start on a doll that can be expendable just in case it doesn't work out. You seal the hair in the head with glue- there is a separate tutorial on here for that. You can comb the hair after it is sealed. The hair might not bode well if given to a child to play with, but as long as you don't go crazy the hair will stay in well. We have a FB forum dedicated to all levels of customizers that I highly recommend! ❤

My issue so far is that the needle doesnt want to stay centered and there is no stopper so it drops into the whole tool. How the heck do you set the sucker up properly?
@Xakryn6 жыл бұрын
the metal center bit is too thick and it wont tighten all the way. so I cant set up the needle at all. It keeps dropping down into the center of the rooting tool.
@SETHGAZ6 жыл бұрын
Xakryn position your tool horizontally so that the needle doesn't slide in. Tighten it down a little, just enough to slide the needle in. Once you have it centered, then tighten it as tight as you can. You can even use pliers if you need to. This way you will get a firm grip on the needle for punching in plugs.
@Xakryn6 жыл бұрын
I've tightened it as much as i can, but it always leaves 5 or 6 threads showing and the needle just drops to the center no matter how tight i've set it. i've been messing with it for an hour now and i'm just getting angry.

Sorry you are having trouble. Try checking 3 things: 1) There is a tall threaded end and a short threaded end. the needle goes on the tall threaded end. Otherwise the tool won't clamp tight enough. 2) Make sure you have the correct cam end for the needle. There are 4 cam end sizes, the correct one has no rounded hole and looks like a cross hair. 3) Use pliers if needed to tighten if your fingers won't do the trick. If these 3 things don't work please contact us and we will send you a new one at no charge :)
