Kinda. People gave up their physical gold for an IOU. Then physical gold was re-valued. The people that fell for that trick lost more than 30% of their purchasing power overnight.

The current Canadian government and the BoC is in much deeper denial around Au, in fact it’s a Trudeau family curse. In the 80’s senior made our gold stores sellable & placed untapped resources & debt in to back the CAD. In 2016, a year after becoming PM, junior sold off ALL Canada’s gold. This could get ugly for Canadians when BRICS is up and running, the USD is clearly no longer controlling world trade, and the bulk of it has found it’s way home.

No offense, but Mr. Leeb should deploy less emotion and more facts. There is nothing new here. Gold and silver are undervalued and will “skyrocket” every year, every month, and every week. The ball is constantly kicked down the road. “I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.”

We the people are 'surety' for debt. It's all about commerce the UCC. We are creditors to the system. As we don't recoup what we are owed. We suffer. Yet we allow the debt instrument so called 'money' to rule our existence. Gold and silver are true wealth.
