Australia has sooooooo many conditions which prime it for a monumental crash. And Australians are so unprepared for it. The guest here correctly noted one aspect, which is that there has always been some sort of external factor which has rescued our mineral exports, housing bubble and thus banks, and each time it taught us that we did the right thing and doubled down on the bubble and movement away from diversification. In any case, Australia is in for a fascinating ride we have badly needed. Severe pain is coming.
@survive25_Churchill
@survive25_Churchill Күн бұрын
Is that pain in 2025, 2026 or in 5 years. A timing guide is everything, as the call for a monumental crash has been around for a long time in Australia, at least in housing.

All these issues stem from an economy grappling with uncertainties, including housing problems, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and the aftermath of the pandemic, leading to instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions demand urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.

In retirement, safeguarding your wealth against inflation is essential. Consider options like TIPS (Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities), commodities, or foreign currencies to hedge against a weakening dollar. Diversifying your portfolio with global real estate, international bonds, or high-quality foreign stocks can provide additional protection and growth opportunities in an inflationary environment.

Venezuela, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo are in a depression. Cuba has fallen. Syria has fallen. Russia has fallen. I think the real question is what you’re investing in. Waking up to spiritual reality has taught me that true investment is in eternity through Jesus Christ. Continuing to put your resources into the corruption will have eternal consequences. The current system enslaves the vulnerable and less powerful, so opt out.

Aussie here - I think you guys are right and wrong. Yes the USD is the one to hold and yep it'll go up, but I think the reason is wrong, and final outcome is wrong BASED on history. The USD is going up because of yield, but I think it's unreasonable to think this will continue. Yields are about to collapse like they do in every crisis. You can't have the US running as much debt as they do and yields at +6%, This will kill everything. In Aus it's already starting to hurt more. Fuel back up to 2 bucks a litre which will push up inflation. Our CB can't cut rates as the AUD has fallen 9c in 3 months. So the Fed will be forced to soak up bonds pushing rates down so the US can refinance. Our property is high because the moron PM imported 1.5m people is just 2 years. I've never seen so many homeless here. The bubble is about to pop and yields will go with it. Yen trade will also go. Aug was a taste of what's coming........I'll be suprised if we haven't gone by April.

Aussie also. I'll be surprised if the Rba cuts rates at all this year despite political pressure to do so with election coming. However, I doubt residential real estate will crater this year, more likely to freeze, with less buyers but low inventory. Would not be shocked at the re-emergence of inflation around mid year though. Us Australian frogs will stew.

Big thinker's question. Is there an option to create a "split" domestic vs global dollar currency model where US citizens transact in an "on shore" UST back "currency" and the Euro Dollar market transitions to an "off shore" blockchain distributed ledger system, where certain assets such precious metals, energy assets, etc. are "tokenised" and used to trade/transact. In essence, a new type of digital barter system. Ultimately it probably ends the need for Central Banks, which many might argure would be a postive occurrence.

Dollars are being excluded around the world and returned home, there are no guarantors at home, and therefore the value of the remaining dollars abroad must cover - equalize the value of all the uncovered dollars together, because they are the only remaining guarantor. The mathematical equation is this. The FED is sitting on an ever-increasing amount of unbacked money, but it cannot give it to the domestic public, because the domestic public has nothing to return, insure or guarantee it with.

Yes, the DXY is pretty high at 109. But it was higher just a few years ago. (It was 114 in August 2022). So is there really a major problem? Also, the idea that problems always start at the periphery and move towards the core is correct, but incomplete. This needs to be understood as multi-dimensional. Take the GFC in 2008, for example. Yes, it started in the periphery in the real estate market (subprime) and moved towards the core. But that was inside the US. And the US was the core back then even more than now. (Yes, the GFC also hit other countries, like Ireland, the UK, Spain, etc., but it was a global crisis because it was destroying the US financial system, not Ireland’s financial system. And quite a few other major economies, such as China, Germany, and Japan were not directly very threatened by it. So in terms of countries, the GFC was as much of a crisis in the core as in the periphery, perhaps even more.)

Start with which bond offerings are experiencing a flight to safety. (China) Next ask which bonds have been experiencing a flight and fewer and fewer foreign purchases occurring. (US) Now, use the model of Buffet sitting on a mountain of cash. When entities decide to pull out and sit on cash what happens to the price of the USD? Simply put: there is a “cashing out” of all things America right now by the smart money. So, cash prices are up. As for inflows to the US stock market, it’s too bad you cannot accurately track from where those inflows originate. But some are cashing out and very temporarily holding stocks which they feel can be cashed in an instant. The high USD is not a sign of strength; it is being generated by flight.

Puzzle: There is this insignificant currency `A` that a lot of major exporters borrowed in to pay for production locally. Currency A tends to devalue to the $ so it makes financial sense to borrow in it. However, if the supply of that currency suddenly contracts, those exporters go bust. Sure, new owners will step in to manage but it takes a while. In the process, a huge gap in global exports emerge. Your best guess for A and the impact of such an unwind on the world economy? Say the impact is huge. Who gets blamed for this? It'd be the dollar. Thanks for the video, I am from Moscow, Russia.

the dollars is just the last currency to do this thing, florentine fiorino, ducal of milan, uk pound then now the dollar, the trend was to onto the next better currency which is also traslate into the "bigger/wide" one, the next move would be on yuan but china do not want this since it's dangerous to work with because they export and they do not have a colonal mercantilistic approach where they produce outside and import inside. USA does and this mean there is no replacement if the system break is game over world economy so they cant allow to break it.

DXY is at 108. Relatively high. January of 2000 it was at 118. It's relative. It's cyclical.

When the dollar gets weak, it could mean tough times ahead economically. I'm thinking about how to protect my money from inflation. Lately, I've heard a lot about Bitcoin. With its halving finished and ETFs approved, many folks expect its value to shoot past $100k. I've got $300k saved up, and I'm tempted to invest now. But I'm worried: Is it too late to make the most profit?

Right, a lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their emotions, no offense. During the covid-outbreak, I needed a good boost to stay afloat, hence researched for advisors and thankfully came across one with grit. As of today, my portfolio has grown by 25% every quarter since Q3 2020.

It is the breakdown of the globalization and the logistical chain of production. If you destroy your production chains for production, the economics break down and it becomes a less efficient chain on production of goods, and cost increase dramatically....
