Just a heads up for anybody here for the mantid/invert content this channel began with, I'm trying something new going forward. If you enjoy it and stick around I'm very grateful, but either way I appreciate the support I've received on the older videos - its just time for a bit of a change!

It's sometimes good to change, I found this video fascinating.

I love the new direction and would really enjoy more stories on slavic creatures!

@@loveylilgoblin Thank you for the encouragement! When researching this one I can see there's plenty of folklore from the region so I'm sure more will come up in the future!

I am Russian and I remeber that even in the 90s when I was a child I used to leave candy for the Domovoi! And if I couldnt find something I asked Domovoi to bring it please back. And lots of people still sit for some time before leaving for a long time!
@Wade_Wiley9 ай бұрын
Did you name it? The sitting before leaving is interesting I love it how those old traditions still stick around until modern terms
@isstinna9 ай бұрын
@@Wade_Wiley no I didn't name it. There was a cartoon about a little Domovoi called Домовёнок Кузя (Brownie Kuzya) and I think a lot of people in our times think of him when they hear 'Domovoi'. We even have memes with him! Although the bearded old guy depictions are still used in souvenirs and knick-knacks.

@@isstinna Ohhh awesome I'm gonna look it up, would have included it if i'd come across it! I've actually ordered a souvenir of one to put in my kitchen :)

@@Wade_Wiley after I wrote that comment I wanted to rewatch it and was horrified because they are doing a shitty remake of this beloved cartoon. So don't be fooled and watch the original 80s version :)

Very interesting! I’d love to see a studio Ghibli style movie about these little fellas.

Came here for the mantids but I’ll stay for this! How often do you think you’ll be uploading?
@Wade_Wiley9 ай бұрын
Kinda depends how the editing goes probably every 2-4 weeks to start with! I checked out your channel, love it! keep it up dude!

Will you be making more of these?
@Wade_Wiley9 ай бұрын
Thats the plan, its a bit of a passion project as always been interested in folklore, just gonna take a bit of time to make them :)

@@Wade_Wiley It's a fantastic video. I like LotR and D&D, but in a way the true history of these stories has been lost in pop culture. It's amazing to think that belief in ghosts, fairies, and such were once a part of people's daily lives. Informative, great visuals!

@@MrChristianDT I think they're still around, but we really only 'notice' them when there's family trouble haha. My grandma dealt with it when that happened
