The Doors were amazing. They didn't try to be showmen on stage, they just stayed true to their music and poured their souls out. The music stands alone. They don't have to go crazy or jump up and down, they just feel the vibes and send them out into the world.

Man, what a band. It's been 40 years and nothing came close. Depressing! But the fact that we have this footage makes up for it.

Robby's lead guitar work is truly amazing in this clip. He played with no effort at all and his style of no pick was unique for rock music.

i know, but it's not only the beard, it's the way he move, the way he sing and his eyes. He looks so tired, so old and free of ethusiasm.

I've always said Robbie Krieger is a very under appreciated guitarist of the ere I lived thru. Jim was so great, he overshadowed a devoted and tight band.

@Paneeks1960 it's because when Robby learned guitar he self taught himself "flamenco" guitar. Which is like spanish style picking. I've been thinking about doing the same thing. Learning flamenco and other styles like jazz and blues and introducing it to rock music. Thats where you get unique sound. bleeding genres together like that.

@DiamondSoul first its not only "robby and rays music" and second thats why the doors were so big, because they were different with a cetchy circus tone they were a werid sound and thats why lots liked them. so dont go and rip on someone if you hardley know what your talking about.

@termsofusepolice you're thinking of weed mate; quite a few people in their 40s and 50s have said that to me. Beer's got a bit stronger (that's more european though) but whiskey (and whisky) is whiskey (and whisky) and it's always been bad news.

@DiamondSoul I'm sure what he meant was they have a unique sound which carries a cardinal hint of Canivalesque in songs like People Are Strange and Alabama Song....This is one of the worst songs he could refer to Circus music though. Long Live the Doors...even if their lead singer now fails at everything (Milijenko, Not Jim..I love Jim :P)
