This is a great song in itself but Ray's playing from 2:10 truly made me fall in love with this song.

Ray said he reworked a Polish composer’s work on the LA Woman Docu…and it works beautifully. Never heard who he was referencing

I saw Ray perform one last time before he died. It's been said that they Doors were able to conjure spirits during their act and I think that particular night Ray was able to get Jim back here for a brief moment.

Ray does a nod to Chopin in his solo.

Yep, in the LA woman doc, he says it's a tribute to both

Yes Ray and Chopin are both Polish, just Ray had Polish parents, but growing in USA.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House? What are they doing in the Hyacinth House? To please the lions in this day I need a brand new friend who doesn't bother me I need a brand new friend who doesn't trouble me I need someone and who doesn't need me I see the bathroom is clear I think that somebody's near I'm sure that someone is following me, oh yeah Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away? Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away? It was the only card in the deck that I had left to play And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend, the end

Anybody know who in the pictures is playing bass and who the "rhythm" guitarist is? More importantly, what this song is about??? The music is fabulous!
@lucassuarez8404 жыл бұрын
The bass is Jerry Scheff (Elvis Presley's bassist) & the other guitar is Mark Benno.

the "bubbling" part at 1'23 is strictly amazing ! i'd love to reverse engineering the thing but it seems i am not good enough to make it sound decent...
@gasolineandwine8 жыл бұрын
Sounds like percussion, and it's definitely overdriven, but just a little. Plus, there's a weaker organ take to the left, so the stereo helps for the "bubbles" effect

I think he was using a amp that gave a doppler effect -it's a rare amp-vibratone ??

Ray was the only one able to make sound acid even Chopin and an Hammond .

That was inspiring! Totally his own unique approach to the Hammond. I love the use of percussion. Is that one where he used the Leslie 16/Vibratone??
