Yeah, you're right I play that bassline. Sometimes I don’t feel like playin the same three notes of the chord or four…as some people do. I don’t quite follow the book. I play the basslines as I like them and as I think they sound better, at least for me (I also kinda add it as a signature n_n’) Likewise I make variations in songs like Blue Sunday or Soul Kitchen where I use it to differ from When The Music’s Over (although it was made first)

Great feeling, I would guess which side do you like more? I've always asked my self how to play both side at the same time with one brain only, this should be Talent, just like a God
@jamescawley65248 жыл бұрын
It's the ultimate "gift" in playing keyboards. I've been playing for about 40 years. It's the "talent" portion. Not really needed to play most rock pieces. Listen to some ELP and you'll hear that observation put into song. Good comment.

I’m not that young either, man. Didn’t mean to offend you. Sorry if I did. Well, I really don’t remember exactly when I started, all I remember is having classes as a child with a red book (I think I still have it) and again at 15, during summer, but I was already able to play some Queen songs. One year later I was playing Light My Fire (studio version). Man, I’ve never heard a Hammond live. They say they have this crystal sound not reproducible by any software. They definitely worth it.

By using your own judgment you can call anyone a liar since you can’t get into their minds and see the truth for yourself. Our concept of what is right or wrong in music is inherent to each of us, so there is no point in arguing about that.You’re free to express your discomfort by disliking my video and/or leaving a comment. As long as they have sense and are courteously written, I’ll be posting them.Then anyone will be able to agree or respect it. Thanks again for taking the time to stop by =)

I've been a Doors fan since 1967 when I was 14 & their first album was released. I played it that entire summer. Regret that I never got to see them when Jim was alive though I saw them the following year in NYC's Central Park & they definitely benefited from the larger sound of a 5 instrument line-up. Q: How long have you been playing for? Also, did you take formal lessons & if so for how long? What books or study methods have you used to learn? Books? Online? Or Copying song riffs? In my late-60s I finally began DIY self-teaching lessons with "Alfred's Self Teaching Adult Piano Course". Always regret I didn't take lessons as a kid when they were offered to me, but back then, I thought that a piano was a "sissy" instrument that only girls (like my sister) played! That was long before the Doors or ELP or Yes or Deep Purple. How were you able to get the Columbia CVS Keyboard Bass?! It's very rare and expensive the very few times I've seen it for sale. Lastly, thanks for posting!This certainly brings back memories. Some 50+ years later I don't think there's another group that can touch them in terms of originality and creativity. - - - - DJ
@PFranciscooo4 жыл бұрын
Hello DJ, I'm very glad to know that you’re learning to play keyboards. We all make decisions we later regret, that’s part of life. The important thing is we end up doing what’s right. Just like you I also found The Doors in my youth and they are one of the reasons I got interested on keyboards. I took some guitar and keyboard lesson when I was about 8 years old. Never got to far. The only book I remember is a red one called ‘Enseñando a tocar a los 5 deditos’. I believe the original title is ‘John Thompson’s Modern course for the piano’. I still may have it somewhere. I’m afraid it’s not recommendable for adults like us. Later I begun to play songs by ear and that’s how I learned more. About the piano bass, in fact, it is a Rhodes 54 I turned into a Rhodes Piano Bass. Maybe this is why it doesn’t look familiar. Thanks a ton for stopping by and keep on playing!
