Don't count your memories. Think of them as just a dream. 😉

Thank me?? Thank YOU!! 😙 I'm glad you liked it! (That's just The Doors and John Sebastian on harmonica. No sax... I think.) The other one I mentioned is Ships w/ Sails from The Beat Club. It's a little better than the one from the Other Voices album. (This was written after Jim's death.) It's not blues; it's... uhm... I think it's called cruising. It's in a quick 6/8 time but has a very calming vibe to it and an overall pretty sound/tune. Ray has a nice voice. The lyrics give you a lovelorn feeling. IMO, it's a great song that, on merit, could have hit the charts.

Oh wow. It really sounded like a sax

@@JennReacts John Sebastian has great tone. BTW: Blues harmonica is colloquially referred to as blues harp or harp. I'm always nearly writing "harp" but then I remember that most people would think I'm stoopid.

@@JennReacts Thank you! That song truly deserves recognition. They put out two albums post Jim. They weren't successful. I think The Doors might have been more successful if they would have stayed with the kind of music they had been doing, and keeping it mostly instrumental. IMO, the trio only put out two or three good songs. Ships w/ Sails (that spelling is how it's titled) is by far the best. (From the Beat Club, please.)

Whatever Jim was, devil, saint or a ball of yarn, their music was great.

It's difficult sometimes but you have to separate the art from the artist. :)

"His albums." To Jim, that's a no-no. When the debut album came out, Jim was angry that the cover displayed his big face over-shadowing the other itty-bitty faces in the background. When being introduced to an audience, he would not allow "Ladies and gentlemen, Jim Morrison and The Doors!" Nope. It had to be "The Doors." In the earlier albums, songs were credited as being written by "The Doors"; not by "Jim Morrison" or "Robbie Kreiger" or whoever. So, it's "Their albums" 🧐

Doors are on my top 5 bands-list. Listened to them a lot during my teenage years. Too bad Jim destroyed his life, they were such a great band🙌

They were above & beyond anyone else, to me. Only THEIR music REALLY gets into my soul. Others I simply enjoy.
