Riders On The storm is a classic. This was the last song he recorded and his voice fades away into a whisper . Everytime I hear that last whisper from Jim, I get choked up.

My late father was a big fan of The Doors. I like some of their songs. I mostly find Jim and his life, albeit a short one, very interesting.

vin well said re the density of morrison's lyrics in this song. sparse but packed. his poetry was getting better near the end of his life. it also frames a very visual wise scape picture.... the lone endless road, snaking thru the canyons on a desert storm. the hitcher alone on the road. the vehicle (representing the person dealing w/ large forces of fate & danger). the fork in the road choice to pick the hitcher on and take on evil or ride on and endure the storm & find love & sustainment.... the song is as much about an indiv stuggle as it is about societal collective strife. ... its a contemplative deep song & ode to our culture of warning but also hope. the road being the past, the car the present & the road forward our own indiv and collective fates. this last song of the band may have been their best.

Prince has a song called Dig U Betta Dead and one called Face Down, where the video is him at his funeral. Lotsa weird stuff.
