I completely agree with yer comments, and I love this Doors series. Soul Kitchen is a solid song but, yeah, can't compare to the powerful, driving, aggressive Break On Through. Great sequencing on this album. You are ready to stay for a while in the Soul kitchen after the opening track. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about The Crystal Ship. A credible argument could be made that it's the best song on the album.

I absolutely love that one, both the atmosphere and the lyrics. It is a pretty heavy song for 1967 as well 1) Break On Through 2) Soul Kitchen

I like how this song definitely sounds like “The Doors” from the very opening. Yeah, you can dance to it at a party. Makes a great album to play at a cool party.

I light another cigarette; learn to forget. Great song and I rate it much higher than Break on Through. I have it around the 20 out of 62 mark. I made a list and the top 30 or thereabouts could be in the top ten for me including Soul Kitchen.

The Doors were well known for not having a bass player, though there are several different bassists featured on all their albums and feature some great bass riffs , odd eh Larry? I'm a bass player...did I mention that LOL. Keep up the great work!

"Don't wear yourself out doing the series". Yes, be careful Larry reviewing all the Doors great songs is a daunting task. You might start drinking heavily, gaining a lot of weight and growing a full beard as time goes by reviewing all their songs! (Actually though that would be appropriate as you are reviewing the Doors and our beloved poet Jim). LOL. Thanks Larry!
