The 60's were amazing, but I should mention that it was also a very difficult and actually terrifying time. I'm not kidding. The music was astonishing and kept us all alive, but what was happening in this country was horrendous. The Vietnam War was a nightmare. We hippies were hated on and hassled non-stop, beaten and gassed by cops, etc. Two Kennedys plus Dr. King were assassinated. Everything was fucking intense ALL THE TIME.
