The Doors channel is the official KZbin home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.

That must have been a magical feeling! I met John Densmore in the mid 90s when he played a solo drum show at my college campus, University of South Dakota of all places! I wrote for the college newspaper at the time and was invited to the after-show mixer where only about 20 people were there. I walked right up to John, shook his hand and proceeded to tell him about a play I was writing in my creative writing class inspired by the Doors music. John smiled and then said, "If you make it to Broadway, call me up!" Still to this day I am amazed at my luck that day meeting him. Years later I was also able to see the Doors play in concert with Ian Astbury, which was phenomenal. The Doors played for about 2 1/2 hours and the band let people get up on the stage and dance. Very fun memorable experience.

I wanted a song to play to my baby in utero that I could also play after they were born to sooth them to sleep as a reminder of the womb. I chose this song because I absolutely love it and I’m so glad I did because I will never get tired of playing it to my baby to send them to sleep… I always discover something new in the many beautiful layers each time we listen to it - as for baby, he especially likes the keyboard…

I first heard the song on the radio while I was in a car on a motorway with my father when I was 5 years old, outside it was thunder and lightning and it was raining in buckets. However around that time I could't speak english, but I felt this mystical feeling and shivers went down my spine.Meanwhile I m 55 and it still feels the same. This song is not just a song,it is a revalation~[I was born on the first of december in 1966] Into this house we born.....Thank You Jim,Ray,Robbie And John🙏Namaste♾

@The King in Yellow I think he died of liver disease or at the very least, liver failure. Let's not forget that Robby stated that Jim got sick & was coughing up blood before he left for Paris. Also, he took a bad fall one night & that is when he started coughing up blood. So with how much alcohol that Jim drank a day, taking a bad fall one night, & coughing up blood up until his death, I'm not saying that the picture is crystal clear. But I think I'm starting to get a somewhat better view.
