glad to hear this is the original version ("she get high" recently added to "break on through" doesn't sound right to me, and if people want to hear something much more edgy listen to jim morrison drunk with jimi hendrix). i heard 'strange days' in my mom's womb over and over before i was born, my dad, she said, played it obsessively, so when i was born i was like, "hey, where's jim?". the doors first two lps for me definitely feel like being soothed/sung to inside the womb

That episode of Ed Sullivan was on TV in the past couple months, it's a Sunday night treat, to see so many great artists in their early days. Ed Sullivan was one of a kind and seemed to enjoy everyone on his show. KZbin has Ed Sullivan clips, search for the Doors and you'll be glad you did.
Christmas 1966 I received an AM transistor radio.I found 77 WABC,NYC, It had a very strong signal.Ray Manzarek's work on Light My Fire was etched forever into my fragile eggshell mind. Timeless music

This is my 54th year of listening to THE DOORS, and I was fortunate enough to have met all of the members except of course for Jim, who is the only member I do Not have an Autograph from! Yet, I was able to visit his grave in Paris, France at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery back in 1985, and stayed their for three days straight partying with all of the other DOORS fans who were there! Of course we were all Respectful of Jim while doing so! The way Jim would have wanted it to be! Cheers to ALL of You DOORS Fans out there!

I got into the Doors in 1979 as a high school kid. "The End" which was used in the movie Apocalypse Now was my gateway. Although, I was very much into heavy metal, The Doors were arguably my favorite band. I had all their records on vinyl and played this debut record a million times. And now, 45+ years later, they still sound so fantastic and unique. Love it!
