what philosophical poetic musical genius. An American poet and prayer. Legends never die.

This song still blasts from the amps of Mexico, down to the Virginia swamps, to the Bluegrass of Kentucky, to the Yukon of the western dream, and to canyons of Mars and back! Long live THE DOORS!

seize the day basically live to the fullest because you never know when your times up ,it can be taken many ways applies to all states of mind question everything don't just settle for a dull boredom of some existence where you simply be and find out too late i should have been living, one should not go nuts though it just means don't sit on your arse and watch life go by most humans are just sheep and happy living blind to everything happy in the safety zone of number mostly zombies until the realization of it all hits then they give up and wait for death or strive to stay alive we are all a creative spiritual entity it is just how we choose to make our mark that differentiates each individual entity along their pathe I wish you well upon your journey travel it with heart. stay alive we are all a creative spiritual entity it is just how we choose to make our mark that differentiates each individual entity along their pathe I wish you well upon your journey travel it with heart.

the western dream... thin raft... where the pharoh died....forest of azure... gotta give morrison this, the cat had big scope vision.... honestly this is some of the best poetic lyrics written in re to what happened from 1500-1900 in n amer.... walt whitman would wrestle a wink.

I wanna tell ya 'bout Texas Radio and the Big Beat Comes out of the Virginia swamps Cool and slow With a back beat narrow and hard to master Some call it heavenly in its brilliance Others, mean and ruthful of the Western dream I love the friends I've gathered together on this thin raft We've constructed pyramids in honor of our escaping. Well, this is the land where the Pharaon died. Children The river contains speciments The voices of singing women Call us on the far shore And they are saying "Forget the night Live with us in Forest of azure" Meager food for souls forgot I tell you this No eternal reward will forgive us now for Waisting the dawn And one morning you awoke And strange Sun And opening your door... Exquisita esta versión. Como me sucede generalmente, prefiero las interpretaciones en vivo que en estudio, sobretodo , de los grupos musicales de peso. The Doors, no se comercializa. Jim era un poeta ✨🎈♾ Salute, CTM! 🤩

I don't think that many people realize what Jim was really writing about. He wrote about the Native Americans and the African slaves who sought refuge in the Dismal Swamp of Virginia.

bulls-eye.... morrison in several of his songs references his fascination w/ the spread of western culture, its good, bad & ugly, across the shores from ancient egypt/greece/rome to the native shores of n amer in the 1500's.... your indeed spot on, he's tracing how the art & survival dna transported in bondage to native shores endured & shaped its first vestiges of freedom thru music. a new form melding the new world they found themselves in wh/ was influenced by native americans & high lonesome scottish music also. the antecedents of the blues, jazz & rock.... its all in the WASP in symbolic connection, including its transitory progression to his present day in the form of rock wh/ he first heard as a kid in NM, blasted out of mexico radios. the birth of blues to rock, its all here on a 500 year continuum. an excellent work of poetry.

Actually, now that I think about it: ther may be three versions to this poetry/song. Jim was a poet first, then a film student, then coincidentally a rock/pop artist. Also, ive been thinking: I know that several bands made "music videos" in the late 60s, but what venue would have shown them? This was long before MTV, TBS nighttracks, and Don Kirschners Rock Concerts.

Yeah, where's the rest? It shouldn't abruptly end just like that, Morrison would have segued into a smooth transition; or made it clear it was The END....

The correct lyrics follows this way: "We´ve constructed pyramids in honor of our escapement, for this is the land where the pharaos died." So, "escapement" instead of "escaping". On the other hand, Morrison was a nietzschean poet, who thought life on earth was only a step along our eternal life. I always recall his episode on the grasshopper. Wherever he is, he deserves a space of our time.
