I´ve made a fantasy cut for the ultimate roadhouse blues version :)) - lyrics:
Hi, how you doin' there? Y-e-ah. Looking good. Everything is fucked up as usual... you know...
WHOOOOOAAAAAAOOOO - C´MON!
A-keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel
A-keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel
Come to the Roadhouse, gonna have a real, a good time.
Yeah, at the back of the Roadhouse they got some bungalows.
Ah, at the back of the Roadhouse they got some bungalows.
That's for the people... like to go down slow.
Let it roll, baby, roll,
Let it roll, baby, roll,
Let it roll, baby, roll,
Let it roll - all night long.
Ashen lady, Ashen lady,
Give up your vows,
Give up your vows.
Save our city, save our city
Right now!
Yeah, I woke up this morning, I got myself a beer.
Well, I woke up this morning, I got myself a beer.
Future's uncertain and the end is always near.
Let it roll, baby, roll,
Let it roll, baby, roll,
Let it roll, baby, roll,
Let it roll - all night long.

The Doors are simply IMO, the best band that ever existed. Yes I realize the weight of saying that but Morrison was such a talented genius and his band also so ridiculously talented, I have no choice but to admit it and mind you, I have been a huge Pink Floyd fan since 1979. This band was soooooooooooooooo DEEP. Over the years this band has grown on me and now it has become my favorite. The concert at the Hollywood Bowl where they do When the Musics Over , REALLY got to me.

You hit it right on the head. They had their own style. When the drummer was asked by Dick Clark what kind of style of music to they play, what do they call it?.................he said " we are on the other side of it, we just play it, it's up to people on the outside to place a category on it, not us. " Then of course he asked Morrison " why LA woman? " his answer was "because the west is the best"...............which of course is a line out of their song The End. I thought that answer was great.

@haroldsteinblatt2567
@haroldsteinblatt2567 3 жыл бұрын
That crossed my mind literally ... yesterday. He imitated no one. Listen to L.A. Women, there isn’t a song where he doesn’t do something interesting, really interesting, strange. One of the things that set Krieger apart was his slide playing. Totally original, nothing at all to to with the style we’re used to, inventive and scary. And the complete “Light My Fire” solo remains one of the greatest ever.. Morrison so dominated the band that Krieger did not get the respect he deserved. On the other hand, his post-Doors stuff was not nearly in the same category as his playing with Morrison. I have to assume that while the latter was often removed from the rest of the band - hurting himself, basically - he brought out the best in them. It’s a cliche, but a cliche based heavily on truth when it came to Morrison. Does his best album ever and, still in the thrall of his belief that he was the second coming of Rimbaud - he wasn’t - he goes to Paris on the heels of a masterpiece and essentially buries himself with his heroes. And it still bothers me 50 years later.

morrison willed it. he had a great sense of theater and presence, along w/ a creative mind & lots of charisma. it helped that he had ray as a guide & great improv musicians around him. all said though, considering how little music influence he had before the age of 22, its amazing what he pulled off. savant like. a once in a generation talent that comes around. in his case far too brief a period though on stage.

A few years ago, after a long day at work, running on virtually no sleep, I made the long trek home ( I worked about 40 minutes from home). About 15 minutes into my journey home, I felt myself nodding off. Well, wouldn't you know I hear Jim's voice booming from the radio " A-Keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel." It was at that exact moment I opened my eyes and dodged a guardrail. That's right, Jim Morrison saved me from a potential accident. So whenever I hear this song, I always thank Jim and the rest of the band for "keeping my eyes on the road and my hands upon the wheel." Rock on \m/

+MusicDude86 I was once driving down the M6, had been working in Scotland, struggling to get home rather than stay in over night holt, don't know if you've ever experienced the hospitality of Scotland but as an Englishman I don't recommend it .At some point in my journey my eyes closed, I dreamt I'd hit the central reservation and crashed all of a sudden I was driving along, wide awake. It was a that moment I realised I lived in a multi universe and could never die, I would simply slip into another reality, when I got home I got myself a beer

+MusicDude86 My dad says that i saw the spirit of Jim when i was 3 (I honestly dont remember). but he says one day i came up to him asking "Who is the guy in the white towel?" he got worried and scared of an intruder so he searched the entire house and found no one, but then he realized that i saw Jim in a white towel (how he died in the bathtub). Keep in mind i didnt even listen to The Doors at that time only my dad did, up until 13 i started listening to The Doors. I honestly cant believe that i saw the spirit of Jim every time my dad tells me. My dad has never lied to me so this is why i think it did happen but i cant recall because i was sooo young

It's crazy how little credit Morrison gets for his voice, but he literally influenced countless singers, from Bowie to Iggy Pop to Ian Curtis to the dude from the Cult to Vedder, Weiland, Staley... the list goes on and on. I think his love of spoken word, film and theater played a key role in how he approached his very rich tone. Long live the Lizard King.

why would you get slaughtered? I am a 60's born rocker, I wish I was born 10 years earlier. I missed Doors, Janis, Hendrik, and that generation. I saw Who, Stones, Allmans, and probably every band in the late 70's into 80's and then up to now. Seeing Van Halen, Styx, Boston, Skynyrd etc in their prime cant take that away. Music today all sucks. Just stating the obvious.

Jim Morrison was the front man for the Doors, he was the other three members Muse, they fed off him artistically, until he burned his own light out, and the music for Jim was over, how sad, Morrison had so much more music in him, if had left the alcohol and drugs go. Rest in peace Jim, we still love you and the music you left us!!! Rob

Jim Morrison wanted to be a poet; He was a beautiful soul in a Young Lions body, that beat the hell out of him with all the bad treats, that were available to him for the times. I think he became the poet, he always wanted to be in the end, the poet he always was in the beginning, but just didn't realize it. God bless you Jim, you became the eternal Poet, people will listen to your words , poems , and song's forever, Rob
