Omg.. thankyou very much my phy teacher taught me and i really could not undertstand why waves starts getting buched up when it comes closer to the observer doesn't a wave has a fixed frequency right from where it originates so why it changes.... you explained it ! thankyou very much

A jet plane often creates two mach cones (one at the nose, one at the tail). But you may also be hearing an echo.

no, because they are moving with the plane, so the rings of sound (sound waves) dont build up in the same way they do to a slower or stationary object.
