Fight Night Champion 2 has been long awaited! The one thing Fight Night still hasn't even attempted to do is an actual inside game where bodies actually make contact. Wrestling, leaning on/smothering your opponent, pinning your opponent against the ropes is a big part of boxing, but the videogames never simulate this part of boxing. There's always an invisible barrier between the fighters. The next Fight Night should focus on finally including this in their games. It would be groundbreaking.

We had that Barry McGuigan Boxing on the Commodore 64 computer back in the 80s💪🏿💪🏿!!! I used to bang on that when I was a young dude like 6 or 7 years old!!! It was actually Super Dope!! Had training camps, had a ranking system and everything!! The training camps weren't interactive but they gave you a choice of multiple boxers you could fight, and the longer the camp the better your boxer was going into the fight. That's where my big bro taught me about 12-week camps.

Da first one on the Saturn is crazy, because that’s the first, with a 3d background, that moves with 3d fighters and you could make it realistic. I can see modern UFC and fight night all in it. And I know it comes from virtual fighters that Sega made. But just imagine if Sega had the money to keep makin consoles. By now there realistic games would be crazy. Some of them might get banned in places because of how realistic, at the time it was always graphics not the engine, cause the Dreamcast was crazy, but didn’t sell well, and they tried to be Apple before having the popularity, didn’t work.

Electronic Arts is set to revive its classic boxing series Fight Night in the near future, development sources have said. According to people with knowledge of the EA Sports label’s plans, the new Fight Night, which is currently codenamed ‘Moneyball’, has been greenlit and entered early development. However, the series’ first instalment in a decade is still likely several years from release. This is due to EA Canada’s decision to temporarily pause its core development in order to prioritise the next EA Sports UFC game, which is planned for late next year. In a studio-wide e-mail seen by VGC, EA Canada told staff that its focus would be on EA Sports UFC 5 for the foreseeable future. The e-mail explained that strong marketplace competition had made it challenging to staff up for Fight Night, which was intended to enter production alongside UFC, and that it did not want to split its senior creatives between two fighting game projects. Thus the decision has been made to pause the game’s development “for the time being” to ensure that UFC 5 will be delivered at “high quality”, the email reads. “We’re very excited about UFC 5 and… we want to eliminate the split focus that several members of our leadership team have had over the past while so we can solely focus on delivering migration and UFC 5 at high quality,” it reads. Not much is currently known about the new boxing game, but it’s understood that EA sees the revival as a means of reasserting itself in the fighting game market.
