I really can´t wait for you to talk about Wano. Even after carefully rewatching your videos and agreeing with pretty much all of your points there is no arc that comes close to the utter failure and dissapointment that was Wano. It is by far the worst thing in the entire series to me and it really makes me worry for the end of One Piece. The worldbuiling, new power ups, fight, and confusing characters of Wano just makes me sad. Your videos represent one of the few places online that isn´t just a echochamber for the copium addicts of One piece KZbin. This manga used to be my favorite story of all. I have followed it religiously since I was a little kid. But The timeskip marked a stark dropp in quality from which the manga never recoverd from. Being honest and praising what deserves to be praised is important but it is just as important to recognize the faults and issues in the things we love. Thank you for making these videos, they are theraputic and well made. Don´t let the copium adicts bring you down!

@idkhahahaha 1: Sanji's motivation for leaving doesn't make sense and it's basically a repeat of Robin's story, which also makes no sense cause Sanji was there at Enies Lobby, so why he'd leave? He comes out as a worse character 2: Why didn't he ask for Luffys help with Zeff, Sanji leaving makes no sense, and on that topic 3: The lack of accountability for Sanji spits in the face of everything that happened in Water 7 with Usopp, so it's bad. Luffy comes out as a worse character Before I get into the reason why all his points about this are complete bullshit, i got this side note, a problem that isn't really debunking anything but i still feel is important to mention. If you don't care to know about that since it's not really debunking anything Side note: Every video from the downfall of One Piece seems extremely fuckin petty. I love One Piece as a series and won't deny it has flaws, but everything from his first points of the crew dreams to Sanji in WCI shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the series and characters, and although, again, he has valid points, like how Namis dream is entirely a background thing with no focus and the lack of focus on Swords and Swordsmanship in terms of Zoro, however despite his at times extremely valid criticism, it's hard to wonder if he even liked the series in the first place considering how much he doesn't understand something as extremely fucing basic and simple as Luffy. It comes off less as criticism and more of “I don't like this, therefore it's bad because i don't like it and (A quote he said at 55:04) “how anyone can spin this into a good thing is beyond me… this is awful writing” 1st point. “Sanji leaving makes no sense and he comes out as a worse character” I don't understand how Sanjis self self-sacrificial nature and lack of self worth doesn't make sense since the seeds of that have been planted all the way since his introduction arc. His entire character in Baratie is entirely based on his lack of self-worth. He wants to chase after the All-Blue, he yearns to travel to chase his dreams, but he doesn't see his wants as valuable as Zeffs, so he chains himself to the restaurant. Thats why Luffy vs Don Krieg and Zoro vs Mihawk is so damn important to Sanji. He himself says “It easy to give up on your dreams” but he sees two people giving everything they got and risking everything to chase idiotic dreams. He see Luffy chasing his dreams and he gushes and lets out his desire to see the All-Blue to Luffy, and Zeff sees this and is why he pushes Sanji to leave. Despite everything, his lack of self-worth and placing others and their needs above him still follows him. For example him sacrificing himself during “Drum Island” so Luffy and Nami, going out of his way fight Mr. 2 Bon Clay during “Arabasta” to get Usopp's googles back, sacrificing himself so Usopp and Nami can get away from Enel on “Skypia”, willingly taking on every government official and CP-FUCKING-9 WHO HAVE ALREADY DEFEATED LUFFY AND ZORO AT THAT TIME AND ZORO HIMSELF TELLING SANJI TO NOT FIGHT THEM, ALL BECAUSE HE HAS A “HUNCH” THAT ROBIN WAS LYING TO THEM IN “Water 7”, but the biggest example is Thriller Bark, an arc after Enies Lobby. Before we get into Thriller Bark, an interesting detail. Many confuse Zoro as being first mate or vice captain or some traditional role on a Pirate Crew, he's not. The Straw Hat pirates are not really a traditional crew with traditional roles because Luffy simply values all crew members equally, and giving out traditional roles would be placing more importance and value on certain members when Luffy loves and values all of them equally. With this context you'll notice how out of all the Strawhats, Zoro is the only one is who is a dedicated frontline fighter. It's Zoro's role and duty in the crew to protect them and fight the fights Luffy isn't because he's fighting the big bad. Zoro understands this and so when Kums was threatening to kill Luffy, Zoro who, at this point of his character arc, has fully accepted his duty and role as the crew's swordsman and protector, was willingly giving up his life and dream to protect his family. However, Sanji also is willing to throw his life away but it's important to note what Sanji says. “What about your dream?” Sanji himself despite everything he's seen in Enies lobby cannot shake his lack of self-worth, similar to how Robin couldn't let herself be saved till she was confronted with Luffy and him saying “Tell me you want to live” and Usopp couldn't let go of his pride until he was faced with being left behind. In Thriller Bark, Sanji sees his life and dreams as lesser to Luffy and Zoros but sees that even with a life as worthless as his, he can at least sacrifice himself and give up his dream and life for them. He, like Robin and Usopp, can't shake his insecurities until they're literally staring at his face. Sanji truly believes himself not even worth the effort which is why he left the way he did. If you wanna tell me that his motivation makes no sense, or that he's just a repeat of Robin, it genuinely may be the case that you had your brain off throughout the entirety of the story. 2nd point.I want you to look at a map of the One Piece world, look me in the eye and seriously tell me that the StrawHat pirates could go from the New World all the way back to East Blue and protect Zeff against Big Mom who is established to Sanji that she can follow through on her threat, simply because she has a picture and knowledge of Zeff and the Baratie. That's not even mentioning the explosive bracelets he has. The choice he has is essentially, be selfish and follow his heart, return to the Strawhats putting them in danger with no hope of getting to Zeff and permanently losing his ability to cook, or be selfless and give up his life and dream(Huh, that sounds familiar🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔) protecting both Zeff and the Strawhats). With all that laid out and everything from point 1, tell which would make more sense for Sanji to choose. 3rd Point. Dritz has what SEEMS like a good point and it's that Sanji should be held as accountable as Usopp was, they fought Luffy and left the crew. HOWEVER whatever point Dritz has is immediately invalid due to 1 simple thing. Luffy vs Usopp, and Sanji vs Luffy ARE NOT THE SAME FUCKING THING, YOU CANNOT HOLD SANJI TO THE STANDARD OF USOPP, NOT BECAUSE SANJI IS A SPECIAL LITTLE, BUT BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT THE SAME. Let me pose a question, should Robin in Water 7 be held to the same standard as Usopp and apologize before being saved in Enies Lobby. I know it seems like a dumb question but the consequences of what she did is WAAAAAAAY worse. She disrespected Luffy by not even telling him when she left, emotionally hurt him when he was at one of his lowest points, put him in the line of fire of Lucci, which need I remind you is 1 of 2, maybe 3, pre timeskip fights that Luffy had to give everything, and i mean EVERYTHING just to win, as well as putting the entire crew in danger by putting them not only putting them in the line of fire not only CP9, but a buster call. So I ask again, should Robin have to apologize for all the shit she put the crew through, FUCK NO. She was manipulated by CP9 and it was the crew's choice to go through all that shit, because they love Robin. One thing of note tho, and that's the fight between Luffy and both Usopp and Sanji. Again, look at the motivation between Usopp and Sanji. Usopp did it out of pride, he questioned and doubted that Luffy wouldn't abandon a crewmate when they were no longer of use. So he WANTED AND CHOSE to fight Luffy for the Merry, unlike Sanji. Sanji fought Luffy not out of disrespect and to try to protect him and convince him to leave, no matter how much it hurt him. Luffy downright says this “You can kick me all you want, but you're the one feeling the pain” So i ask should Robin and Sanji BOTH be forced to ask for forgiveness when they did EVERYTHING they could to protect their crew because THEY WERE FORCED TO ACT IRRATIONALLY AND PUSH EVERYONE AWAY in a lose-lose situation. How can you genuinely tell me Sanji should be held as accountable as Usopp in a situation like this and how can you tell me that Sanji comes out a worse character because of it. Due note, I'm not saying Sanji is in the right, I'm saying Sanji made a terrible choice that was his only option at that point in a terrible situation. Now let's talk about Luffy. Luffy and Usopp were both at fault for the argument, but we already discussed Usopp and his pride, so let's talk about Luffy. Luffy during the build up to the fight shows his immaturity by failing to understand the situation, failing to deescalate the situation, and failing to keep his cool and navigate the situation, and because of all that and Luffy's failings, he lost his best friend. WCI shows how Luffy developed and how he changed so that never happens again. During WCI island, Luffy kept his cool and let Sanji say and do what he wanted, he let Sanji let out all his “feelings” and paid attention to everything that happened. The moment he saw the TINIEST bit of hesitation in Sanji's actions, he knew what needed to happen, leading to the line “Without you, I'll never be king of the pirates”. Can you not see just how much Luffy has grown, can you not see just how powerful that line alone is. How impactful would it be in Water 7 if during the argument in the Merry, Luffy said that line to Usopp, who was currently struggling with his self-worth. If you can truly say Luffy came out worse out of “Luffy vs Sanji” it tells me you've been reading with your brain off At the end of this, Dritz has a fundamental misunderstanding of so many aspects about One Piece, and any criticisms whether valid or not have this air of “My opinion is better, so because I don't like it, it bad” and frankly I think his Downfall of One Piece series is shit

It's not even that big a deal, it's what everyone who isn't a fucking "Goda" zealot is thinking... this show hasn't been good since Impel Down... imo Marineford was trash, and the majority of the Super fans think it's the peak. Along Park was One Piece becoming a real show to pay attention to, Water 7/Ennies Lobby was it's peak, Impel Down was a great setup for its maturity with Marineford, but Marineford missed it's mark and everything since then has been a slow death... and I dunno, people say they hate Wano, but I think it's resolution is the only thing that makes everything post-time skip bearable... it's just like.. we spend SO much fucking time with Momo and Kinemon arc after stupid arc...none of it was great... but we finally get to see who they are, why they're even in the God damn story, what the stakes are... and most of all get them off the God damn fucking boat. That entire Kuma flashback was insulting and is what finally made me throw in the sponge for One Piece. Not only is Kuma and Bonnie used to retroactively insert Nika into that story to make it seem it was always in the background, Oda's misguided belief that tragedy is what makes an engaging character came to the breaking point with Kuma and Ginny, which was comical to say the least. The Gorosei are no longer just the enforces of Im's whims, they are pure evil, possibly even demons. The Celestial Dragons are not just corrupt oligarchs, the are so evil to the point of having genocidal hunting parties of whole islands. This caricature of tyranny Oda has written makes zero sense when considering the overall dynamics of the politics of the One Piece world. If the Gorosei truly think like that, and the CD's truly act like that, then the idea of nations not aligned with the World Government should be unheard of, having Reveries would be pointless, and having countries with their own representational government/monarchy would be out of the question. This also makes it inexcusable for Garp, Koby, and Songoku to be a part of the Marines. And while all of this is happening, what is Shank's, Reyleigh's, and Luffy's modus operandi? ????? We don't know, but it isn't about fighting against this because they actively do not care. Shanks has meetings with the Gorosei to warn them about other pirates; Reyleigh knows the true history yet just sits in Shaki's bar; and Luffy wants to be pirate king, a title which in no way insinuates defeating the WG because Roger didn't defeat them. This makes everyone who is not an average civilian or Revolutionary, evil, pirate, marine, and noble alike. They are evil. When you establish a moral issue with clear black and white boundaries as Oda did with Kuma's flashback, there is no justification why people like Luffy or even Whitebeard should not directly engage in a revolutionary war against the WG. This is the critical failure of Oda's world building, it collapsed under its own moral wait and the story is broken beyond repair.

I’m with you all the way oda should make dragon a more focal point in the story cause he seems to be the only rational character in this entire series. His goal of overthrowing the world government to make the world a better place, is what everyone should’ve been doing from the start. Rayleigh, Garp, roger, whitebeard, sengoku didn’t have the balls to stand up for anything despite knowing the truth of how the world operates and the very injustice taking place. Fujitora seems like the only marine atleast with some backbone despite being a new comer Overall what’s the real goal of finding the one piece.. learning about the true history of the world and simply fulfilling the promising joyboy or now luffy somehow to free and save the world. It’s like Luffy himself doesn’t directly know, what he’s doing or where he’s going he’s just freelancing without a plan and the crew is meant to somehow how make up for his lack of leadership skills. It’s quite comical how any of them is following Luffy in the first place 😂(oda should’ve added a little more realism to why the straw hats suddenly wanna throw their lives away for this guy with a selfish goal) Luffy’s entire thing is wanting to be free to do whatever he wants out now he’s a criminal, the long lost enemy of the world government due to his df, being a D clan member etc.. he chooses the dumb route of being a pirate, somethings he’s only just daydreamed about during the stories shanks told him as a Kidd. Luffy despite his own brother dying in his place is still stupid and thinking it’s a kid’s game still and now gear 5th happens and makes a total mess of his character 😅 the constant retcons and lackluster stakes turned this series into a comedy sketch. @@jjsmooth23 Because Nika as a concept was clearly, obviously, and absolutely not a part of the story priori to Wano. When Oda first came up with it is not possible for us to, but was not there during any of Kuma's or Bonnie's moments in the story. But Oda used Kuma's backstory as a way of retroactively inserting Nika to give the illusion that it was always there. It wasn't. And because of that Kuma's backstory was less impactful--and the added melodrama with Ginny made me revile Oda as a writer. The problem with your assessment that the world government was always evil fails to explain what evil is. Is evil thinking you are better than others when you are part of a social status that props up that self importance? Is evil using that power to do reprehensible things? If that, then where does that line between what is necessary evil and what is pure evil begin and end? Does having tri-annual hunting parties / genocide raids not constitute pure evil? If so then every one, Garp, Koby, Helmepo, Songoku included, are evil. Period. No excuse. No bs about wanting to help people can defend that. But this just highlights how morally bankrupt Oda's worldbuilding has become. Because Luffy is an amoral character, does it matter if he defeats the world government? Why bother when he has nothing to gain from it? That is the overall criticism I have with One Piece, that it has gone for too long, it's world become so artificially inflated, that it no longer makes any sense from a logical narrative standpoint. It has become your typical Shonen archetypal story along with prophecies and the protagonist becoming a god. Why do we need to know anything about Garp and Dragon? They are effectively non agents in this story.

Never stop making these. It’s nice to have a space for fans of the series who are able to remove their rose tinted glasses and give a thorough, unbiased critique. When I sat down and thought about it, many of my fondest memories and praises to the series were pre time-skip. The vast majority of OP KZbinrs are too afraid the speak the objective truth. Oda isn’t perfect and the story isn’t perfect. That’s okay. But to put him on a pedestal as if his writing isn’t susceptible to flaws, inconsistencies and retcons is foolish. Whenever a longtime fan has a problem with One Piece (and says so in a video, for example), the entire fandom will try their utmost to convince them that the problem is with them; not the manga itself. This is a seriously disturbing trend and why people call devoted fanbases like this cults - they condition people to think that it's themselves that need to be fixed and changed to accept whatever Oda put out. That scene was only there to have Sanji question whether his flames are from his passion or just a Germa ability. Sanji in Wano was going through a whole thing where he didn’t want to become a Germa Soldier and the one thing that differentiated him from one was his Passion/Emotions. I assume Queen only said that Lunarian line cause Oda wanted to name drop the race and Queen sees it as absurd that a Human can just generate fire like that. Queen’s a scientist he’s not gonna accept that Sanji’s fire comes from the power of love.

My head cannon for how snake man came about is that it was an idea luffy got from boa. In this concept, Boa is an observation haki master, which is how she has avoided injuries to maintain her beauty despite being a high ranking pirate. Boa recognizes the value of observation haki, and how it can be a threat if it’s used against him. So she challenges him to come up with a way to counter it. To solve this problem, luffy comes up with snakeman. Snakeman counters observation haki through a combination of speed and unpredictability. Snakeman is luffy’s fastest form. And when luffy attacks with snakeman, he randomly alters the trajectory of his attacks, thus removing the intentionality behind them and making them difficult to predict with observation haki (similar to how he countered Enel by not thinking).

Another problem with Pedro's death is that Oda has un-death'd enough characters for us to not really be convinced when one dies for real. It took quite a lot more chapters for people to truly, 100% believe that he's dead. And by then, it's kinda hard to feel sad anymore.

Oda will kill a character when their death has a purpose.

Same with Ashura and Izo in Wano, they were the least meaningful scabbards and their deaths weren't even obvious or impactful. It just felt like oda was throwing a bone to the "Nobody dies" crowd. All of these deaths are forgettable and pointless. He still refuses to kill the characters that SHOULD die, like Kinemon, because he's too attached to them.

@@milzhere- no they aren’t pointless. Pedero didn’t have as much life left to him because of the deal with Big Mom and he wanted to use the remaining life to finish his business that he failed. The way was to get rid of Perospero candy with a intense heat blast and the only way to do that was Pedro sacrifice. Sanij had to make the cake to keep BM from chasing them and Luffy couldn’t use his Red Hawk without Katakuri keeping in check. He died making his life matter in the end. These are forgettable to use because you think they didn’t but they did with them these characters did everything would have been lost.

Imo, the chapters that are coming out today need to have more character development on the Straw Hats (mainly both Luffy and Nami). They all have stayed mostly static since the Pre-Timeskip and it honestly feels like the series is being rushed with the way things are going. Another complaint is the extremely short travel times it takes to get from one island to another. It essentially totals up to the Straw Hats only being together for 3 months (including both Pre and Post-Timeskip) which makes their friendship seem extremely short especially considering they spent 2 years away from one another. Lastly, I’d like Oda to show us more of the Straw Hats bonding with one another when sailing to the next islands wherever they go. We really never saw that much in the manga and it would be very interesting to see their dynamic with one another when having some downtime.

The biggest problem with One Piece post timeskip: A focus on quantity over quality. Sure pre-timeskip was massive though at least you were really invested in your time with the Strawhats there and the world they were traveling in and the conflict as well too. Not to mention the issues with pre-timeskip were kind of minimal at best there. With post timeskip it has a lot of arcs that are bloated with scenes that waste your time there not to mention focus on characters that go absolutely nowhere there like at all.

I more than remember that a lot of people were disappointed with the war arc and hell even the latter half of Bleach. At least the big three are relatively watchable despite their MASSIVE issues, the same cannot be said about the SMG4 series. I did not think there is a show so bad that it made me go and say that the big three shounen at the latter parts are watchable compared to the SMG4 series.

Finally working through this infamous downfall video and its sequels. I remember when it came out, I listened for like a half hour, and tapped out. I intended to get back to it, but never did. I listened to more of Joy Boy's critique of it, and sparred with him about the philosophy of objectivity and subjectivity, etc. in his comments a bit. But I didn't seriously engage your own argument until now. Now that I've listened to the whole thing, and am just beginning the Whole Cake video as I write, I have several thoughts. First, the negative reaction to this, and your characterization as prideful and hysterical, was totally baseless. These are well reasoned critiques, and I've found no reason to reject them. Which I say as a longtime - and still, if frustrated - one piece fan. (I remember dropping weekly reading in Dressrosa and being exasperated coming back a year later to see it still unfinished.) Second, I've been enjoying a small KZbinrs rewrite videos on a hypothetical Naruto remaster, and this series you've done really make me excited for a similar project on One Piece. May need to finish OP as a series to have all the pieces first, so we can properly rewrite it. Your critiques are spot on, but I think a lot of OP's failings is a result of the medium. I've always thought of regularly serialised manga as somewhat of a first draft under hige pressure. The way I always did my papers in college, eking A's through but definitely not as good as they could've been. That being said, I'd love to be part of imagining some kind of remastering for the script and story of OP. Even if its just a silly fan fiction in a Discord that goes nowhere, it would be great to get your thoughts. Maybe hit up Morj. Anyway, thanks for these videos man. Sorry they don't get you the proper respect. But I think they're worth being out here. I'll comment more if I have thoughts upon finishing this video. it's insane that one piece fans are convinced that this arc was even good they are so delusional, the main topic for me is Katakuri vs luffy, their delusions tells them that that was an ok fight because katakuri's durability is trash, how it's trash when he was missing organs after he stabbed himself ? no character in the series continued fighting and lived after a wound like that, that's not all, like you said katakuri stopped using his sticky attacks, stopped using his Awakening to capture luffy like he did early in the fight, he stopped using his trident, his future sight got nerfed due to his wound, that was one of the worst fights ever luffy was not ready to beat him at all, but the main reason Oda did this to get rid of him and keep him away from Wano because he can't make another good all out war like the Marineford ( i can't wait for the Wano arc video ) But i really think that Katakuri last words will be explained when luffy beats BIg mom in the future that if she's not dead, i don't think katakuri being weaker than big mom is the problem it's that she's his mom and he an honorable man that will not attack her or try to take her down although i think he can do it she is too stupid for katakuri he would be able to make a plan to defeat her on his own

I think Big Mom's flashback could have used a bit more criticism. It didn't really answer how she went from a kind child wanting to create an utopia to one of the most immoral characters in the whole story. I think it's also pretty rich that a massive archipelago like Totland that's located in the New World had no (at least notable) civilization on it prior to Big Mom.

The Nami tribute made me think how much has changed, and makes me think that the break Oda took after time skip must have been some life changing break to make the story change so much, which sounds ridiculous, but ive had friends that changed so much after a couple of months, whether that was finding a girlfriend, getting married, or having a kid. Something must have happened cause its doesn't feel like One piece anymore. Ive forgiven the series but Wano was my breaking point it feels irreparable and made me comment on some One piece video that "I thought One piece was a masterpiece, but it might just be an ok series with masterful moments." which depresses me so much.

it's a masterpiece up until the time skip then something happens. I actually think Oda became tired and the series went on too long. After the extreme strong event that was marineford I think the main goal should just been to plan out the ending, I don't think marineford should have been the halfway point but rather the second act. I'd have suggested dealing with Doflamingo then big mom then Kaido then whatever the end was planned to be. I think Oda puts too many balls in the air after the time skip, it gets too much to keep track of and thus it's not really therally thought out, it's like he wanted to do all these idea's and all these islands but the result becomes that there are several long arcs with unfulfilled concepts. I really would have loved to be the editor as this went down because the saddest thing about post time skip one piece is that I feel each arc except for maybe fishman and punk hazard has a really good story hidden beneath the jumbled writing. I think one of the rules I'd imposed if at all possible was limit the number of new characters to the absolute minimum, when are characters needed and for what purpose for example take Luffy's grand fleet. Dressrosa introduces all these new characters and the concept of grandfleet, but it's impossible to make all these characters interesting at once, I'd have suggested taking some existing characters and turn them into the grand fleet or introduce the characters as we move along not all at once and giving them each a fight that's more important then the fights of the straw hats. Giving a new character their own fight is always a gamble to show them all at once. we could have gotten 1 new grandfleet on each island up until this point. And no all of them don't need to be the characters presented, oda should been made to choose the most important characters to him. For example imagine if Yamamoto which is a useless character at this point but someone many fans liked, imagine if she/he became the leader of one of the grandfleet pirates like a ship with samurai. Or maybe also a ship with minks since people wanted carrot to join maybe even Katakuri going rogue and becoming part of the fleet with his own ship. Like a mixture fo the characters the fans liked and the characters oda considered most important.

Bit of a late comment but my biggest problem with one piece in general is the inconsistency with speed feats. Given the fact that Gear 4 in Dressrosa seamed to be such a big buff that it was multiple times stronger and faster than base, yet Katakuri could stand still dodge it and then could also dodge Snake man. With this in mind why on earth did he not just blitz Luffy and kill him with his spear on multiple points. It gets worse later on when Kaido blitzes gear 4 in Wano and Big Mum scales to Kaido. Big Mum back at the wedding could not catch Sanji and Luffy for some reason despite her having the abilities to one shot every character there at a speed that at that point it is even debate whether Katakuri could comprehend it.

Katakuri was preemptively manipulating his body using his future sight, he absolutely can't simply speed blitz gear four, as we see when his future sight stops working for a bit. Think of it in real life, someone could dodge a bullet if they knew the trajectory of the bullet and started moving before hand, that doesn't make them as fast as the bullet. Also while Big mom may be relative to Kadio that doesn't necessarily mean she's relative in every single aspect, for example she's much slower than kaido requring either Zeus or Prometheus to get anywhere, but she has insane defence, she was able to take a punch from g4 without even getting knocked back, when even kaido got knocked back by a punch from g4.

Oh how I can't wait for the wano review. To me that was the arc that utterly broke me. That was the arc that made me realize One Piece is a shadow of it's formal self. For a while I thought I was the crazy one because everyone around me would praise this arc for anything. I was baffled at the worst stuff people would praise this arc despite how much it contradicts the story when it was added. I felt absolutely alone. So much about it was awful. No magic weapons. No coc. Just sheer hard work and determination. Before he unlocked his power ANYONE could of taken his place if they had the right mindset. Anyone could of been him. Kind of the same reason I adored spiderman. Anyone could of gotten bitten and it just happened to be Peter Parker. Sanji was that. Just some guy not born any better than anyone else who got where he is through sheer courage and conviction. Heck this enforced with his siblings who WERE born better than the average person Sanji was born normal and became the strongest of them through hard work. But then he unlocked his genetics. He WAS born special. I wasn't. I'm no chosen one or prophecy boy or special lineage. I was born normal with normal parents. And no amount of hard work will make me unlock those special genetics. To me that was sign One Piece was going down an irreparable bad path.
