I said after the grand final that a loss like that could either bring the team closer together and go one better the following year or it could destroy the playing group. At the time I had a lot of Brisbane fans having a go at me saying there is no way it could destroy the playing group or have an effect on the team. In 2015, they suffered a similar heart breaking grand final loss and it took them years to recover as a team.

I’m a neutral fan (raiders) & I still want the broncos to do well. The only reason more than half our clubs get to exist is because they support us financially with the strictest salary cap in sports. You are too young to remember but the league is sooo much better when they’re on top, the games tops players become household names across the nation, it’s the biggest club in the country owned by a national newspaper. To my knowledge they’re the only profitable club, if it was run like other sports I’m well aware they probably turn the NRL into the Bundesliga It’s fun to hate on broncos when they’re the best but it’s just sad to see the mightiest institution in the sport on life support so unless it’s against the green machine I tend to wish the Bronx back to their glory their fans do deserve better they pay out the arse for tickets. Their problem is they sign too many school boy superstars who never had to work hard lost their core of born and bred Qlders too…

Watching that 2023 GF as neutral fan sitting in a room filled with cocky die-hard Broncos fans (they only started caring about the team week 13 of the 23 season) and seeing Cleary lock-in and steal all their hopes before my eyes was a top 10 NRL experience for me hahahaha. Pure cinema.
@AnimeFanFTW252 ай бұрын
Seeing this downfall as a Penrith supporter, has been the most surreal experience ever. Cleary really did traumatise an entire city in less time it takes to order a pizza. Oh, and subbing. So glad to find a channel making NRL videos like you are doing. Keep it up, man.

I've never been a huge Panthers fan but ive loved this current team. They are nearly all home grown and some even locals who grew up playing together and have genuinely morphed into a super team. They also came back from that 2020 GF loss in a way the Broncos clearly haven't. I guess as a Novacastrian they are exactly what I wish Newcastle was. Im hoping for four in a row.

As a broncos fan, more people need to talk about Jack Cogger. Many people forget that in the last 20 Cogger was first receiver, feeding Cleary with all that good ball.

they need to realise hard work wins the game, talent is a key part of it but hard work pays it all off, they'll either start great then drop off, try to comeback way too late, or stay flat from the start, maybe next year broncos, lets do it
@CrimpyDip2 ай бұрын
The edge defence is the main culprit here, both sides. The defensive reads are something only the likes of the tigers could come up with. Staggs always letting them run past for some reason was mind boggling. All whilst patty Carrigan was putting 80mins down the middle missing 0 tackles. Selwyn Cobbo finally looked like he was improving his defence end of last year, but Kevvie reckoned he needed to relearn all of that again, Deine Mariner was never up to standard defensively and makes negative PCM, Jesse Arthurs can't catch a contested football, and our halves are a mess. Reynolds and Walsh were good but played twice all season, and Haas barely played but didn't look right all season too.

Crazy because their edges are top tier in the competition threat wise

@matteograsso8686Ай бұрын
Cobbo is one of the main reasons Broncos lost the GF, which is why Kevvie moved him from the wing but nobody wants to talk about that. Cleary kicked the 40/20 on Cobbo who was too far up and didn’t make an effort to get back to stop it. His attempt to tackle Crichton late in the game was poor as well. Reyno’s kicking game was the other reason broncs lost.

Even with the most consistent fixture every single year (90% friday night games) theyre still rubbish. Most overhyped and worshipped club in the comp. Gives some of us great pleasure seeing Lord Kevin and his darling son get rolled every week. 50% win/loss ratio after 4 years, but because they fluked a chance against Penrith he is sacred. It’s clearly a coaching issue which severely lacks at a base fundamental game theory understanding. But no hate it’s rugby league they’re all dunda heads no offence (CTE). When Reynolds scored 24 - 0 last year; sub him off for a defensive player. You have to park the bus like Mourihno. Reynolds did his job, if there was NRL fifa he’d be 99 atk 70 def. No hate to the guy my mate ran into him at chermside and he was the tiniest nugget, but bro has insane atk. So once youre 24-0 up, as a coach, you take him off, and put in a defensive player. They didnt, Reynolds leaked like 2-3,4 tries cant remember. And they lost. Then broncos young squad tilted off and did gear partied and spent all day on instagram inviting ‘ig models’ over to snow up to feed their absolutely devastated mental health from coming so close but absolutely blundering. Not too much inter game analytics needed imo, just simple mindset: they didnt have the mindset to come back the season after losing 24-0 lead.
