I disagree that Apple has kept the level of quality it had under Steve Jobs during the Tim Cook period. It has dropped a bit. Software has been kind of buggy. At times it has felt like Microsoft software introductions: get it out and fix it later. Steve didn’t do that…

I don't know about the quality of Apple products. The Macbook was especially notorious, for the screen dying from dust, to SSD can short itself. And they refuse to claim that it was a design problem. And the design will stay for a couple years. Come on! I want to love it because the outside and the software were really nice, but I can't knowing that they won't stand by their mistake

Tim cook once said, "Design iPhone is not the hardest part, the hardest part is manufacturing iPhone, which involves hundreds supplier. It's also true for any other products. Manufacturing is always the hardest part because it needs digging raw materials from the ground, refining it to purify materials , so on. It is very long supplier chains.

misleading title... kinda corporate propaganda. The Apple's negative impact on electronic industry is the replaceable batteries disappearance, significant reduction of available ports (so people forced to purchase various accessories) . This also affected professional devices as well for example Lenovo laptops were the best with replaceable batteries, bunch of ports including special heavy duty docking port. Now Lenovo followed this trend to make everything crappy.

I think the main Apple Park buildings do *NOT* contain research labs (mostly). That's reserved for several other buildings east and south of the main building itself.

They abandoned their EV project after investing more than $10 billion into it. Every year they introduce a new iphone model with a few extra gizmos at a significantly higher price. Apple is beginning to price itself out of the market. What does Warren Buffet see that the rest of us don't?

They definitely have, at the very least, the next 5 years of design and engineering mapped out in any given year. Any smart business does, and you can guarantee the largest company in the world does. The newest AI features being delayed to shortly after the 16 line-up release is a clear sign that Apple wasn't ready for the quick emergence of AI and LLMs, which is one of the very few blemishes I've seen from Apple.

But... Really that thing is dystopian more than inspiring - like a round Pentagon, with no architectural features at all to distinguish one part of the circle from any other. It's also not really environmental, since you need a private car to get to it, and as a horizontal groundscaper it propagates low density single use urbanism to the extreme. It's just a beak, pedestrian hostile monolith, set in a sea of parking.
