Hola!! Thanks for watching! My famous pinned comment here it issss. Some of you have said I don't have to live in an HOA and this was my choice (some of these comments have been deleted but left up a couple). All of us do not have the luxury to nitpick and be choosey in this housing market. I got the best deal for me with the money I had. And I literally won and my fence is sitting nice and pretty in my backyard. k love you byyyeeeee

I hate to say never, but I will NEVER get an HOA if I can help it. My friend was put through hell and went to court over it. They have too much control over a property in YOUR name. I also learned they can have you removed from YOUR property on some B.S. and put fines on you for no reason. I just can't. Watching my friend deal with it gave me heartburn, indigestion, diarrhea....My eyes totally twitch thinking about it....lol.

@@BrittneyChristina Just proceed with caution as some people like HOA's. Just keep in mind that they have control and the final say on what you do to your property. My friend can't even paint an accent wall in her condo without permission, nor can she rent a room for extra income without being put on a list and petitioning before the board your reasons as to why. They drug her through the mud. Every HOA is different so just read the terms and fine print.

It's so funny because I am currently looking at fences and was unaware of how expensive fences were for my tiny backyard. All I want is an all white vinyl privacy fence, since I just got a dog. I know it will be approved but it's $3,838.00 and the contractor said our HOA takes forever with approving fences. I shopped around and all the contractors gave me a range from $3500-$4000. Lastly, my HOA fees are ridiculous! They are over $1000 and you must pay it between february and April every year or else they get their law team involved. When I get my next house I will be making sure that my neighborhood DOES NOT have an HOA. They are demons.

First off, never buy in an hoa area. For the life of me, I have no clue why anyone would want to live in a hoa. It doesn't make life easier, it makes it miserable, unless you have nothing to live for. I understand your rant, but it's not a homeowner issue, it's an hoa issue. Every homeowner has to do repairs and maintenance. They make it sound good like we'll make sure the grass always looks good. We'll make sure that it stays clean and pretty. They don't tell you the rules can change and suddenly your paint is the wrong color. Or your grass is too high, or you put up the wrong fence, or you didn't get permission to do whatever you did. Your more of a tenant. Your paying people to tell you how to live. Why would you do that?? They are worse then the government and can add or change anything they want whenever they want. Then they fight you with your own money. No one realizes how crappy hoa's are until they want to do something and get told no. Simple things in life suddenly become a battle.

I chose an HOA cause I’m a single woman. I had a house and it was too much upkeep. Personally, i love my HOA I’ve never had any issues from them. They take care of the building and everything outside so that I dont have to, I don’t pay for water or cable, the rules are reasonable and we dont get fines. Its great.

Lol I purchased my first home last year. Had this Karen ask me do I own or rent my home. Fence was another issue people not knowing who owns which fence. I recommend actually getting full measurement done for me I actually owned more land than I thought. There are 4 markers on each property dictating where your property lines are. My neighbor actually has a playground that stretches past his property line. There are so many little things to look out for not to mention little things that need to be fixed if you didn’t buy a new property. I know now why old folks walk around they house all day looking for things to fix because there’s always something to fix.
