Hi “Anthem Lights” guys.. 😢😢😢 since last September after Bowel Cancer surgery and 6 months Chemo. I’ve prayed and listened to the Holy hymns . I’m also part of the Choir at my church. I couldn’t sing in church during that period but your hymns kept me close to our Lord.. thank you from the bottom of my heart.🥲🥲❤️❤️❤️ He was there throughout my ordeal as the surgeon while I was in recovery said to my wife: I’ve never ever experienced this in my entire 30 years career.. your husband’s heart beat and BP remained in one straight line throughout the 4 and a half hours of surgery without any help. Even the anaesthetic was surprised. When I woke up, he again told me. With tears flowing down my cheeks. I looked up and murmured: HE above was next to me.. ❤️❤️❤️😢😢😢 He touched me on the shoulder saying: I truly believe you. Amen.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Keep up the singing guys.. bless you all.

I was raised in a Methodist church that taught basically nothing. Scripture was used as examples of how to live in life, but not one word about the Gospel. Nothing about needing to be saved, BUT this is the song that we would sing right before we left the service. Thankfully I had a friend that took me to an evangelistic meeting when I was 16 (now 63) where I heard the Gospel for the first time & I knew within myself I was hearing the truth, & accepted JESUS as my SAVIOR. I was what they called the "JESUS Freaks" of the 70's. Praise the LORD that HE has NEVER given up on me. HE has always remained faithful even when I was not.

I have several things to say to you lovely young people. One is to thank you for you conviction and the lovely sound that you make.. The others are practical advice. 1. There is something that makes traditional English Church choirs exceptional, regardless of whether they are a choir of men and boys who sing at a cathedral five days a week, or they are a group of mainly elderly parishioners who practice before church on Sunday morning. This is the DICTION. It involves a couple of things- Don't allow words to run into each other. Sing "From...whom", not "Froh-moom". Sing "Him...above" not "Hi-mabove". It is particularly important when a word begin ends with "s" . It is very easy to turn "His wings" into "His-swings" 2. Crisp terminal consonants- "Shine, Jesus, Shine!" is a fantastic hymn to practice this. So is "How Great Thou Art" 3. Phrasing of syllables "Nea-rer my God to Thee" and "Amay-zing Grace" re two common errors. 4. God. Most Americans tend to call him "Gard". The British make the sound with their lips pushed forward and as round as a car tyre. It is a much better sound. The opening of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, in English, as it was first written, makes the maximum use of this sound. It is why it NEVER sounds as good when it is sung in another language. "For the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth". It makes a HUGE and Almighty sound because of he roundness of the words. Carry it over into every occurrence of the word "God" . Here are about 9,000 Brits from across the UK ... led by a Welshman. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnOvg6aLgtmofLM
