Agreed on the horrid "Creamy Spinach Fettuccini", grotesque stuff! And "Beef in Jamaica Sauce" was very nearly as bad. Toss in the "Vomelet", you have the "Terrible Trifecta"! 😝

You are far more patient than I when adding the salt and pepper sauce. You ate half of it before you added. I usually never wait. It gets salted and sauced before I ever get it out of the bag. But I suppose, to give a proper review, you have to taste it "as intended" so people can get a good sense of the original flavor. I was always an odd sort, though. I enjoyed most MRE's, particularly the ones from the 80's.

I'm Canadian and I have a friend I met. Online figured out I was really into Military rations and he sent me a few and this is one of them and he told me to watch out for that 1 I didn't aint try it out tomorrow. Really awesome, dude, too. I told him I pay for shipping and whatever I was like. Yeah, yeah, yeah, gimme, your address, like just 3 days ago, like 8 of them showed up. On my promise that they fought. He's like I f*** y** just take it. You're a good kid. Such a good Duke, one of the best dudes I've ever met honestly, really good friend, even though I've never met him in person. Is a real man's man if you know what I mean Anyways, I'm going to surprise him because my cousins in the Air Force in Canada and he sends me some MI p's once in a while. So I got a couple really nice ones. I'm gonna send out to him. I'm not gonna tell him cause he did for me. So I wanna get the surprise message like you f***** I didn't want this. I'll be like I, you know you like it though, don't play games.😂

Honestly, Americans get such a bad rap. He did 2 tourists 1 of the best dudes I've ever met even though I've never met him in person. Man, the dude just clicked the right away when I met him.

My first MRE was in Basic in 1984...dehydrated beef patty; my last MRE was in Iraq 2008...bean and rice burrito. I hated them both.

Wornick ofcourse? Technically Wornick should not be a Government ration supplier? The company offering are subpar? Not up to the standards of Ameriquil or Sopakco.

How did military personnel get their meals? Grab em randomly out of a box? Handed to them by a person? Request certain menus? Was it a big trading-fest after everyone saw what they got?

Depends but all of the above. While I was in Army Basic in 2003 they were just handed out by the DI's and you just got what they handed you. People would definitely trade individual items or whole MREs and there were some that were so sought after they, for all intents and purposes acted like currency. While deployed your unit gets whole 12 mre cases and you could pick what you wanted for the most part, still had to fight for chili mac or beef raviolis though.
