I’ve heard the hks intake can cause emissions check engine light even if you have the afr connector. You might need a custom tune for that particular intake

So in love with these videos I went and got an 8th gen SI - within two months it’s fully mugen’d up on the exterior, gram lights 57DR, fbo and a tune. 220whp and like 180tq its a peppy little fun-haver. Doesn’t quite replace my evo 7 but had to get the bag while prices were high.

There was a point where this CTR was going to be the ultimate daily... while it's still something you could daily, this is quickly becoming quiet the track build, and I ain't mad. Just funny how things escalate so quickly 😂

I had the same issue on mine, turned out it was an emission system leak. the dealership replaced the gas flap where you put in the nozzle to fill up. These cars are super picky and mind you mine is completely stock as well lol

You might need a slight tune with the intake and intercooler setup you installed. Look up the code if it's MAF related or maybe o2 sensor.

Smooth up your steering and braking inputs. Slow in, fast out. Better to get down to a speed you can corner at and accelerate from than push through corners. Good PB, but keep working and improving!

If it’s a evap code I’ve seen purge valves go bad, and same with the fuel pump lock ring o-ring gasket, gets debris up there and with some spirited driving they work under the rubber and start to rip it up and cause a small evap leak codes, if you have a smoke machine use that to check!

I've had that check engine light issue once in my CTR. It depends on what it is, but from my research and experience, one of the sensors in the engine bay may be loose and causing it. Just try pressing all of the wiring/connectors together and it shouldnt come back. Before going on track, it doesn't hurt to press all the connectors together, just in case. My car is fbo and tuned, happened once during normal city driving and never again.

Yes! Very low 23’s!🦾🦾🦾 and your CEL is the intake. Turbulence on the maf sensor throws that light, could possibly be the exhaust but that’s bank2 so that would really give the car a bad day. I’ve been through that already. So i think it’s an excuse to tune🦾.. your car is safe tho only con is having to delete the CEL.

Im an express tech at Honda and the check engine comes up a lot from the battery. A lot of times maybe it got disconnected or it might be failing. Dry disconnecting and reconnecting it and going for a drive and if it doesn’t work try testing it to see how low it might be, previous owner might not have replaced it in a while

Your code might due to HKS intake. U need to disable code from Hondata. AFR module provided by HKS doesn’t work sometimes

Hks intake might be the reason for your check engine light even with the afr. Best route would be hondata and a tune 🤍

On fk8 no matter what the issue is it will throw a emissions light and a rev match problem. I could something with the suspension or anything completely unrelated. Scan the code or of you have ktuner or hondata check it to see what it is.

19 and older have issues with low pressure fuel pumps dying, although if that was the issue I would have expected it to die before or during the track day. Scan the code and it should tell you. Have a fun and safe trip to Japan.

Hey Dut, if you’re getting an emissions code, all emissions equipment is covered up to 80k miles under federal law if anything needs replaced!

My 2018 accord sport had the same problem. Could be your Rocket Fuel sensor or head gasket problem. Mine was both.

From what I hear after years of only using motul in my brakes and gear box. Apparently Castrol rbf is the best. But needs to be flushed every or every other track day. But it's like 100 bucks a bottle or something crazy. But I know your a endless boy. But check out Porterfield or carbotech. I'm trying Porterfield next because carbon Kevlar pads. But ive trust pfc for years for there carbonmetalic pads have been great. Also I've seen some guys run 305 tires on the front 😳

If you're running hks intake on stock tune without their AFR correction harness it will throw a code

Check engine light it’s probably the fuel pump going bad it’s a common issue with fk8 type R there’s a recall for the fuel pump

I had Goodridge lines on my FK8 for a few months before one side burst under the sleeve at the connection to the caliper, without even seeing any track days. a couple months later the other side burst in the same manner. i have since switched to HEL lines

While prepping my CTR for the track I was using an obd cx dongle to connect my trackaddict app I got the same emissions check light. the code was u0155. Which is a weird one of Lost communications with instrument Panel Cluster Control Module.

If you begin noticing that the car feels sluggish when accelerating out of corners along with losing boost pressure toward the upper rev range, it might be the stock MHI turbo unit failing. The unit on my ‘20 began failing internally and produced an identical error code/symptoms to what you were describing during your track time.
