To me, The-Dream was a originator to the sound the both Drake and his predecessors have make a name for themselves after; namely "The Weeknd". I mean, he even name himself almost similarly to The-Dream as well. His vocals sounds like he's trying to emulate him. My woman wants to play his false falsetto ballads in the car over sometimes good and sometimes strange instrumentals and I'm like this just sounds like a knockoff of The-Dream with a Pop-twist to achieve a higher level of popular success. Having listening and studying The-Dream's writing and delivery over the past decade with the homie Tricky Stewart behind the boards, I can clearly identify that there's a level of imitation occurring and that in itself is a "Form of Flattery".

Just sad to me that people don't realize all these main stream "artists" do not write their own songs...its an actual fact that this guy, and 2 other dudes, write all of the hit songs we hear on the radio from artists (Taylor swift, Justin boober, Rihanna, Beyonce, etc). They don't write anything yet they get credit for it...and it's a fact that record producers try to keep it as big a secret as they can that "artists" buy their songs from real actual artists... These people are not "artists" they are performers...good looking people that are hired to perform music that was written by the real talent...this is how the world works...you got a puppet in center stage just doing or saying what someone that nobody knows actually came up with. Same thing with presidents...this is why I find it pathetic when people care about presidents so much. Presidents don't have any power, it's the same set up as the music industry. They are a puppet who are just doing what they are told by someone else behind the scenes. This is just how the world works now.

People are going to look at Drake as a "bad guy" for turning it down, but in reality, he could have been going through some stuff at the time, could have been touring, working on his music/album, personal issues...artistes turn down collabs all the time so don't let this make you feel he did it on purpose. Always hear both sides of a story.

I thought it was because The Dream was on the chorus for Pusha T's Exodus 23:1. Pusha basically predicted how Lil Wayne has been fucked over by Birdman for years by taking royalties and not paying him the full amount. Wayne didn't wanna hear it and now he's taking Birdman to court.
