Haulover Inlet and Sandbar are known as one of the best tourist locations in all of South Florida. Some walk the Haulover Jetty others rent a kayak or a boat and go to the Sandbar hump. In this video I show you guys the process of how its all happening. Barges Escavators and heavy machinery have all been used to do this process. This is a private company that is dredging with orders from the Army Corps of Engineers.
Big thank you to Fishman Joe for showing is around the water.
My name is Alfred Montaner Aka THE KING OF HAULOVER !

Alfred, I might go weeks without making a comment, but I never miss a video. So once again an "Amazing" video and keeping it real. For all the newcomers, this channel is instructional in a vast array of topics. Boat shows from across the country, South Fl and Miami tourist tours, the famous Blackpoint Marina 'Chit-Show', Boat building and repairs, RIB repair and refurbishing, Miami River Tug Boat series, Kayaking, King of Haulover inlet, Sandbar parties, fishing, how Chum is made, and the most famous is the 'Sunk Verado' series. I don't what I left out, but I think this speaks for itself.

Alfred, There is so much more to you than the goofyness of your marina videos. This group of videos you are making on the sand bar are priceless. Miami walking tours, Black Point, Haulover, and now this. Alfred you are so much more than the "King of Haulover" my friend!

You deserve it Alfred, no other channel that I have watched has the diversity yours has. The night time tug trip, the various walking tours and of course the Marina's. People can come to Miami and find their way around certain areas just because of you. Also thanks to Mrs M. for delivering meals to keep you motor running!

I was lucky I grew up on Bay Harbor Island and that sand bar you are showing well back in the 70's that he area was 30 to 50 feet deep and loaded with fish, spanish mackeral would load up there in the winter run. The marina was busy with the drift boats and super off shore fishing. That was a major breading ground for fish and is totally destroyed. There was the wooden fishing pier destroyed by a hurricane. The beach area was loaded every weekend with 10's of thousands of kids and all kind of partying going on till they ran everyone out in the 80's and started the pay for parking crap. It's now a crapy beach that is polluted from the bay water and the sewer that pumps off shore. 😔

Alfred, love your show. What is the tide change in South Florida? Its a lot here in MA. A sand bar at Cape Cod would have to be above water at low tide in order to stand on it at high tide.

Nice coverage Alfred. The US Army Corps of Engineers offers to private construction contractors (who are qualified and bonded) the opportunity to bid on and receive award for a very specific, highly detailed engineered scope of work. If you are awarded the contract, you, as the contractor, must proceed through a very specific step by step process that is approved by the Corps. I have worked for the Corps as a contractor and find them to be the most disciplined construction group in the world. And, BTW, they pay dearly for that reputation.

Want to interview the top dog on the project? Ask any of the crew to speak to the "Contacting Officer". The Contacting Officer is "god" (small g) over all Corps projects.. Like all "gods" this person may be a benevolent dictator seeking the good for all OR a tin-pot-selfish-dictator looking to line his pockets.
