I love how the 'roles' that the lawn ornaments play are all mirrored by what Amanda says she was mocked with.

To end all disputes about the lyrics, Amanda Palmer wrote in the Virginia Companion: “The original lyric was “hide from the guns” which I then changed to “cunts” which I decided was too vulgar, so I changed it to “gunts” or “cuns”--whichever I was in the mood for while I was doing the vocal take.”

guns makes more sense. On someone elses lawn stealing stuff. In some states in the us you can easily get shot. Isnt it?

got to see them do this live last year. i hardly remember it though because i was super sick and had saved every dime i had to buy the ticket so i didnt have money for food for 2 days. i only remember they played it because they mentioned how they'd recently filmed this video... i'd do it again though. it was sooo worth it!

Brilliant! Some much style. Amanda & Brian play so many rolls and parts, musically, lyrically and theatrically. They are a rare treasure in this modern age of crappy music. I would love to see you guys tour with my friends and yours Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum! Peace.

Saw these guys in Austin at Stubbs a few weeks ago. They were FANTASTIC. I was impressed with the way they interacted with the much younger opening act, Smoosh, going so far as to do two or three songs with them after their set was over. These guys are fun, talented and interacted with the crowd really well. I sure hope they make it back to Austin. Amanda and Brian rock! They mentioned something about solo careers after this album. Has anyone heard anything?

THe Dresden Dolls have done it again! My hubby and I got to see the 2 perform in the Tampa Theater last January and we loved every minute of it. They even did covers of "Mein Heir" from the Cabaret musical, "Fight for your Right" by the Beastie Boys & "War Machine" by Black Sabbath!

I love you Amanda Palmer! I love how you actually care about lyrics, unlike the majority of artists nowadays. These are by far the best lyrics I've ever heard from the Dresden Dolls. Great new light punching feeling, it creats a great playful atmosphere. I respect the Dresden Dolls more then any other band. They have a great artistic morale.

I love Amanda in the patriot hat. And without it, too. I believe this video was shot primarily around her mom and stepdad's house. Which would, I presume, make the house in this video the same house that she sings of their selling in "Dear Old House that I Grew Up In."

In an interview on myspace (which can be found by searching for "dresden dolls interview" in the video section) Amanda and Brian are talking makeup and Amanda mentions a phase she went through when she was younger where she shaved off all her body hair, including her eyebrows. So, she doesn't have that birth defect that you speak of.

I love this band and I so can't wait for the album! I'm also incredibly glad I don't have to listen to the stupid censorship of 'tampax' anymore! this album is going to be so amazing; it's more sophisticated but it also has the spirit of A is for Accident, more raw-nerved and personal, which is awesome! :D
