Amen, thanks to Doc Pomus, Mort Shuman, Burt Bacharach, Carol King, Jerry Goffin and the incomparable arrangements of Stanley Applebaum. There has NEVER been a greater song written (for me) than This Magic Moment !!!

@@AlbertWilson-y2w Mines, there go's my baby. Such an haunting melody on the strings. I was DJing in a nightclub in Leicester in the UK when Charlie Thomas's Drifters released "a midsummer night in Harlem (1976) It went nowhere on a Johnny Moore saturated UK chart. But it went down well in the club and it wold be my second choice favourite.

That was one of Clyde’s original replacements in the mid 50s, Bobby Hendricks. After Clyde left, leads switched between David Baughan and Johnny Moore. The leads then went to Bobby Hendricks when Johnny got drafted into the Army.

I have fond memories of my years with Russell Henry Jr. of the Original Drifters. We were engaged in July 1990 in San Antonio TX, but it was apparently not meant to be. Unfortunately, when Russell called me in April 2011 and asked if I was ready to get married I was already married. My prayer is that he and Barbara are happily married. I wish them a long and healthy life together. Single, again, I am quite content with my singleness. I will never forget the shows I accompanied Russell to across the country and always enjoy their music. Incidentally, his latest is by far his best song.

No, he was just acknowledging the three great deceased leads of his Drifters group (1959-). And Johnny Moore was in the original Drifters as well as the second Drifters. Charlie was a class act, 100%.
