The quinine in tonic water glows under blacklight. Instead of the glow coming from underneath, it looks like the liquid itself is glowing (because it is!).

WOW!!! Once again you out did yourself. I can't wait to make the Drink of Despair. Our neighbors couldn't wait to see what new potion bottles I added to my apothecary. I give you all the credit. THANKS

They make tiny ‘earring’ sized glow sticks that you could drop or hang inside to get that glow, and vary the color to get different effects-yellow versus blue versus purple or pink/red.

Have you had corks that absorb the liquid? I've been having that issue and was wondering if you had any advice? I notice you use rubber corks a lot but I wasn't sure if there was a way to fix the corks I have. Thanks!
@amberhughes8309 Жыл бұрын
Soak the cork in a tiny bit of oil before corking the bottle.

I'm sure glow in the dark acrylic paint would look cool in a potion bottle, I wonder if the alcohol would affect the glow.
@CookingandCraftChick3 жыл бұрын
What tends to happen with that is the glow pigment ends up dropping to the bottom so you don’t really get a great overall glow.
@jessknight4562 жыл бұрын
Does the paint settle like the mica powder or will it dye the alcohol and stay green?
@CookingandCraftChick2 жыл бұрын
It dyes the alcohol green and the mica settles. So it’ll swirl up when shaken after it settles.

Hi, did you set the powder with hairspray? I would assume the powder would come off otherwise?
@CookingandCraftChick3 жыл бұрын
I did not, since the hairspray was wet when I added the powder it locks it in. But you definitely could add another layer of hairspray. On my test trials it took a lot of scraping/washing to get the hairspray and powder off once it was added.

I know you said you can keep the vodka in there for a drinkable version (w/different pigment)... Could we just use the vodka instead of rubbing alcohol (without the intent to drink it)? 👀
@CookingandCraftChick3 жыл бұрын
You should be able to 👍
@debbienagy26743 жыл бұрын
I know you've mentioned this in a previous video, but I can't remember which one. Why do you use rubbing alcohol instead of just water?
@CookingandCraftChick3 жыл бұрын
Water eventually gets really gross, alcohol does not. If you’re going to use water it should be distilled water and glycerin like what you would use in a snow globe. 😊

Does it matter if it's 70% alcohol or can it be any percentage? I did mine at 99% and the paint was incredibly flaky.
@CookingandCraftChick Жыл бұрын
It shouldn’t have mattered the percentage. Your paint might have been getting old. Sometimes even when brand new from the store they’re actually decently old.
@heathertaylor8106 Жыл бұрын
@@CookingandCraftChick guess my paint is a year old, just didn't think it would go bad that fast. Thanks for the help!
