*This is absolutely true.* I'm about to turn 51 and this method of pulling your hands toward your body during the swing allows me to get well over 110 MPH club head speed no problem. I even poked up to 124 MPH on a max effort about a year ago and 118 about 2 months ago. The main problem is that I end up having a tendency to cut across the ball while doing this (all arms swing + lack of hip rotation) This leads to a decrease in swing consistency. However, when I do connect it square, its a 275-285 carry.

My clubhead speed is almost identical but I use a Krank El Diablo driver with a correctly selected shaft. My in-the-air distance went from 280-290 to 310-320. It feels so awesome when the shaft kicks correctly! Roll out sucks though

This year marks 51 years playing tennis. And the hardest thing to get right is the serve. One of the key points now, in serving, is to take the arm that you threw the ball up with and then as you're going up with your body you're bringing your arm down and tucking it in close to your body giving a massive amount of acceleration to your forward thrust into the serve. I can clearly see the point that he's making. It's like a figure skater when she spins with her arms out she's going slow and then as she brings her arms in the rotational speed increases explosively. This is essentially the same concept. It's awesome!

Hopefully I'm communicating my question in a clear way... Are the hands moving "into" the body a result of clearing the hips and proper shoulder turn (left shoulder rotates away from the ball more or less and right shoulder rotations towards the ball to some degree)? Or should the left arm bend increase to allow the left hand come into the body? Or some other action to generate this move?

3:54 vertical force into your lead foot also helps pull the grip up and around. There is an old video of tiger saying getting the hands closer to the body on the follow through, "like a figure skater spinning" helps him create a ton of speed in the same way. When they go up into a jump they bring their arms in to spin faster...they all are essentially saying the same thing just different ways to look at it.

Ok so these pros told us..DONT CAST the club. Now they are telling us casting is ok, but only if you stop the cast the exact point because a half of degree causes a slice of a driver of 30 to 40 yards. You tell us not to cup our wrist, yet to achieve this you have to cup the wrist.
@ChrisRyanGolf8 күн бұрын
Hey Ryan, casting is definitely not a good move, and in this video im not advocating that, also not advocating a cupped wrist either. Seems there is a few crossed wires here

SO many variables. It can work, but for high handicappers I would not recommend this, you will fail and make golf so much more difficult for yourself. Less variables = less errors = easy & enjoyable golf.
@ChrisRyanGolf8 күн бұрын
What would you recommend for higher handicappers then? I think in its simplest form I advocate having the grip of the club a little farther from the body than it was at address, with the head of the club a little behind the hands, what woods you prefer high handicappers to do?

Don't worry, you to can cast your club just like me if you follow these 3 simple steps, 1. Cup your wrist...I know we said not to last week, but this week it's ok. 2.Clasp your hands together like you are praying, this way you can pay that your club face comes back to perfect impact in that flipping/cast that your ball doesn't make a right hand turn, boomerang itself back around knocking you playing partners teeth out.
@GolfAddict8 күн бұрын
@@ryancallander807 🤣🤣 I'm honestly sick of these click bait BS titles and in YT golf to be honest - there's nothing new except that every week we have this cheat code, hidden move, bomb your driver, get +60 yards, never hit a fat shot again, how to cheat at the short game videos getting churned out day after day after day by the same old faces. #BOREDAF lol

When you get a golfer trying to pull his hands inward instead of just focusing on getting the hands past the ball at impact, you are setting them up to spend weeks failing before they abandon your technique and search for another miracle cure. There are only so many things a person needs to know and think about to play good golf. This is not one of them.
@ChrisRyanGolf4 күн бұрын
If that is your opinion then fair enough, but this is exactly what happens in good golf swings that create efficient speed, so out of interest why is it ok to tell someone to focus on getting their hands forward, which is accurate, but not tell them to do this, which is also accurate? Why is one ok and not the other? Sounds very much like you have experience of working with golfers and trying to change their delivery and impact, what issues have you found with this approach?
@deer87304 күн бұрын
@@ChrisRyanGolf it is ok to tell someone one thing and not another because what I said focuses on a fundamental, whereas what you promote is some kind of 'trick' that will produce 'insane distance'.
@ChrisRyanGolf4 күн бұрын
@@deer8730 a trick?? Really? Unfortunately on this platform we have to package things slightly differently, but this is not a trick, this is bio mechanically how you need to swing. This movement is demonstrated by all the greats. Fundamentals of the game would be in my opinion striking the ground on the right place (irons), controllable and predictable curve and being able to hit the ball far enough to play the golf courses, this video addresses that, so for be both fundamentals, still not sure why one is ok and one is a ‘trick’ this is how you play golf, how you efficiently deliver the club with speed. Again, if you disagree then that’s your choice, but I believe is coaching golfers how to move correctly and arming them with the info that is accurate
