Dennis Brown was perhaps one of the most productive and influential reggae musicians ever. Many reggae artists looked to Dennis Brown to find how a reggae song was sung effectively. He had tremendous knowledge and a deep understanding of melody and lyrics. He was dedicated to making music and always was looking forward into the future.

I worked personally with D Brown. He sadly died young, and was immensely talented. He was a huge star here in JA long before Money in My Pocket , following Delroy Wilson and Errol Dunkley. I choose to focus on D Brown the man, who was a people person, always joyful, never miserable, friendly with EVERYONE, always gave of his time and himself. Maybe too much. Ask anyone who knew him , they will tell you the same. I am honoured to have known D Brown, despite his problems. Big up Dennis Emmanuel Brown

I worked for Dennis and Castro Brown at DEB music in the late 70s and early 80s. DEB wasn’t mentioned at all, it was a label that led the way for British Lovers Rock as well as releasing Jamaican artists. He also released the Wolf And Leopards album on the DEB label. He was a genuine, caring man and always supported the newer artists.

I am a "veteran" of the Reggae Sunsplash in Jamaica, 83, 84, 85, 86 and 87, where I watched dozens of Reggae performers aside from assisting dozens of Reggae shows in the San Francisco Bay Area. Of all those performers I never encountered a performer that radiated more peace and happiness than Dennis Brown. As soon as Dennis would get on stage his radiant presence enveloped the audience in a wonderful feeling of bliss with his incredible voice, melodies and radiating ever present smile. While Freddie McGregor came close, Dennis outshone them all. BTW 1983 Sunsplash was my best musical experience. Staged in Freeport, Montego Bay at the Bob Marley Center. It happened about 2 weeks before Jamaica's Independence Day. Jamaica was turning 21 years of Independence from the UK. The energy was incredible, it was like, no matter your age, the whole country was turning into an adult and with the celebrations to match such an occasion. Dennis Brown was there and it was the first time I was exposed to his greatness, followed by many more and he always performed as perfectly as any human could ever wish to achieve. May he rest in Peace and he will always be remembered for his greatness and contribution to Reggae.

I loved Dennis Brown's music. I grew up listening to his Sound Systems music fi years. To me? Dennis Brown was like our Jamaican Lou Rawls but with a slight higher voice pitch as Lou Rawls voice pitch was a deeper low toned voice & also Dennis's Reggae songs had a lot of Black Soul vibes and mi loved it so much. Both artists were tremendously great! Dennis Brown and Lou Rawls and may they both RIP in God's holy bless up care. ❤❤❤

There's worse than drug use that's been alleged, regarding Eek. Too bad, I like a bunch of his music. Like a lot of reggae singers, including Dennis Brown, he had to keep output high at the long term expense of quality of one's body of work, I think. I only got to see him once, the next and last woulda-been time, he was a no-show.

Yeow!!!!! I never dreamed I would ever hear this from anyone, and even though I am writing a book or autobiography on my own experience with various reggae artists, I have had writer's block for years now, because I couldn't figure out a way to explain or articulate getting around the years I spent with & around several of these artists, without hinting or exposing their crack cocaine addiction, that was a major part of the lives of so many of my favourite reggae artists. AS A WITNESS PRESENT IN MANY OF THESE ESCAPADES, EVERY SINGLE STATEMENT THAT EKA MOUSE MADE IN THIS INTERVIEW, IS TRUE. I finally can now continue to work on my novel, knowing that I wasn't the first person to make the private lives of some entertainment giants, public information. I wasted many years trying to figure it all out... Wow!!!!!

D.Brown! My favorite artiste of all times. Decent documentary! I wish you included more of him singing/performing! I do not understand why there are so many images of other people in this documentary. Appears unrelated! Perhaps you could explain!

I appreciate your honest feedback. Your suggestion to include more video(s) of him singing/performing is well noted, but you should also know that this channel is doing everything to avoid copyright infringement. Many thanks for watching
