Favorite Drums song but I have yet to find a good live performance. This just doesn't have the same feel as the studio recording.

I feel that is because of his singing. The bassline is so smooth and chill, and he ruins that mood by singing a bit over-exaggerated at times. Other than that I think his voice's not that much different from the album version (quality wise).

I really love both versions. Studio version sounds more...post-punk? Also last minutes of studio version are just delicious. I suppose live, can’t achieve same level of production than live. Anyway, I don’t want, I don’t need, lives performances sounding exactly as studio versions. Not at all. For that, I listen to music at home. Check this great performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2ran3-Qgrxjhqs

This song has to work so hard to stand up to all those 'ooo baby I love you I need you never let me go songs' would it be a mistake to call them more realist?

I know this comment is 5 years old but I understand that feel. I've always gravitated towards the songs about love that show the "dark" side of falling in love. All those other songs act like falling in love is the best thing to happen to you but I gravitate to the songs that tell you it's the worst..

@@alexwilder5561 I don't think its an exaggeration to say that falling in and out of love is both the best and worst thing that can happen. Feels man, big feels.
