2009-2013 Was the best era for The Drums. I think after Connor left there was a few years that the live act was awkward and overall not good. This lineup now though is really fun and interesting. Although not having Jacob is a bummer. I do like this opportunity now for Jonny to showcase songs that are written by himself. He is a genius when it comes to creating guitar pop.

I've been to The Drums concert a few days ago. No need to say it was amazing. But the best part was when I was waiting in front of the doors 1 hour before the concert, and still no one was there (actually people were in the bar nearby). And suddenly the doors opened in front of me and Jonny appeared with his boyfriend Keon. I was like holy shit. I felt like my legs couldn't support me anymore, lol. Then, instead of greeting them, or asking for a picture, I just turnt away from them haha. Best reaction ever. Then I watched them go away, I was happy and sad at the same time. Weird feeling.

The only great thing my ex left me... she introduced me to The Drums and now, can't get over these guys. Just saw The Drums last week in San Luis Obispo at the Fremont Theater (with Alvvays - equally fantastic). Jonny Price lit up the sold out crowd! His performance here, while great, is dialed down compared to his SLO show. It was like seeing the second coming of Morrissey watching him dance all over the place that night. They did basically this same setlist plus three. Crowd went crazy on Money, Down by the Water. The sold out crowd was loud and into it... Total singalong. After seeing so many obvious fans my impression of the band has changed a little. I'm guessing these guys (Price) have dedicated fans everywhere. Such a great show!
