I never understood the function of a singer, a bard, an entertainer. Until I heard Luke Kelly. Thank you, Luke.

50 years ago in1973 I backpacked around Europe and Turkey for 4 1/2 months and the best souvenir I brought back to Texas was the Dubliners record album I bought in Boyer's store in Dublin.

Never Forgotten. The Dubs: a Class of their own. Nothing but Love from Germany.

As a youngster I never really appreciated The Dubliners, but when my dad's health took a turn for the worse, in an effort to understand his love for them I started listening to them and now they are my favourite band. I wonder how I could've been so blind to them growing up. As my parents would listen to their music all day. I honestly feel their performances, every time I hear them, and now I go out of my way to make sure I listen to them every day. My parents are on Fiddler's Green now and I cherish every song from The Dubliners, as not only are they fantastic, they make me feel like my folks are still here. That to me is priceless. Rest In Peace to Ciarán, Luke, Barney, Ronnie, Eamonn and Jim. Every member, past and new have been amazing.

I first heard them in O'Donaghues and then in Liverpool playing at the old Uni theatre and afterwards in the pub until late and Kelly trying to chat up my girlfriend - that was, I guess, around 1966. Followed them through the years, sadly miss them .... thanks for posting this ...

You are amazing Ghost. I recognised it, but could not quite put my finger on it. Thank you so much. This is by far the best version, in my opinion, I wonder how (this) Barneys style would sound with the lyrics.
