Morgoth’s voice is just wicked. The moment he said “Foolish elf” he had me wrapped around his finger.

This is excellent! Well written and narrated. Fingolfin has always been my favorite. And what a powerful addition to his story at the very end - the joy he felt at the prospect of seeing his brother, Feanor. That right there says everything you need to know about Fingolfin’s character.

Fingolfin was enraged because he had received news about the loss of Dorthonien and defeat of many close relatives, and likely the fact that Morgoth was to blame for everything, even for the Noldor leaving the blessed realm to come and fight him..oh, and the death of his brother Feanor. Morgoth didn't want to come out out of fear, but had to save face in front of the troops and maybe get treated for some sick burns - “Fingolfin named Morgoth craven, and lord of slaves. Therefore Morgoth came...” I know, details..but important.

Nice retold. Though I would have like it if there were more "anger and pain" in Morgoth. After all he was a Valar and was wounded by a mere elf. great work nonetheless. kudos

Very true, that angle, Morgoth in full self pity would have been very interesting
@susanrodriquez37575 ай бұрын
He was even a tier below the Maiar which makes the wounds imprinted on him even more devastating from a mental perspective. It’s almost the same equivalence to how some elves saw men as beneath them (and men themselves not being seen as worthy which actually becomes a source of their envy as a younger brother to the elves both being children of Lluvatar). Of course at the end of it all the mightiest villain of elves and men of the 3rd age (Sauron) was defeated by a mere hobbit which was the whole point of Tolkien’s series. How common folk (hobbits) filled with nothing but courage and desire to preserve what is good, the most humble and meek of all people can topple and defeat even the mightiest of foes. It’s a constant running theme throughout the series. Even Aragorn is a downgraded version of Elendil from a power, strength and aging standpoint (Elendil was nearly 400 years old as an 8ft tall giant human numenorean man and a physical powerhouse in his prime before he was struck down by Sauron in their fight...who knows how long he would’ve lived given he was at his peak). Gandalf as mighty as he was also had a strong fear Sauron could possibly take his mind and bend him to his will as he wasn’t even considered the mightiest of Maian. And yet in spite of that Aragorn and Gandalf did what their previous ancestors couldn’t by defeating Sauron with the help of the most humble sized people of Hobbiton. 😊
