Just smiling so big thinking about the HLTV posts from 10 years ago when the captain of that team had the "n word killer" knife tag at a sponsored tournament and they were fighting to the death that he shouldn't be questioned and he did nothing wrong and he's actually the least racist person alive even to people just suggesting "yeah probably shouldn't have your sponsors name/ads in the same place as that knife name". Reverse debates only work when you have two people who actually care about intellectual honesty, are ready to accept the truth whatever it may be, and that actually understand the arguments/evidence of the opposing view. In other words, in the modern world they work in Universities between professional colleagues and just about nowhere else.

It's just a bit odd how a white European guy is grading levels of racism based on whether or not the subjects at hand were enslaved by Europeans in recent modern history or not. I love your investigative work in journalism, but this just feels like a lukewarm show of indifference to what the criticisms are actually trying to discuss. (i.e. How are the remarks about Machinegun supposed to create a feeling of welcoming to the Esports scene for players from underrepresented regions like Mongolia) Then the subsequent argument of "Ayrag has no racist history, what are you on about?" just feels so unrelated and off-topic to what is even being said by people criticising these attempts at "comedic" articles. The point is that as a "comedic writer" for a website, you should be able to be funnier than cheap jokes at the expense of minority groups in Esports, which are traditionally overwhelmingly underrepresented in the scene as a whole. All this does is give more fuel to the fire of chud gamer counter-culture against "wokeness" or some other fun buzzword they think is ruining their NA/EU only club. Anyone who takes issue with HLTV censoring the jokes is as "triggered" as they claim others offended by outwardly stereotyped jokes are.
