I believe in most of the US when you go to claim a lottery prize you actually can request that your identity be kept anonymous with the only information reported about you publicly being the state that you won the lottery in.

@JSN in most states you can’t claim the jackpot anonymously. Last I checked it was 11 states that you can, but more were trying to change the rules to allow it.

@@Adplusamequalsadam Not that it would matter because news outlets would go "X amount of money won by individual in this state" anyone wishing to prey on them will have an entire state's worth of population to narrow their search down and even more if they cross reference who played the lottery in that state.

In Puerto Rico we have a tried and true saying: “If you win the lottery or get a promotion, don’t tell anybody.” Way too many people are opportunists that would knock at your door the second it gets out that your financial situation is better than before, especially family members that you barely even talk to.

First thing to do with my winnings would be to calculate how much I owe in taxes followed by securing my daughter's college fund. After that, figuring out what kind of lifestyle I want to retire on and invest appropriately. The real challenge is helping out family while trying to keep it a secret. I already know one family member who can't keep her mouth shut.

If I won the lottery 2 things, a home, a donation, a Suzuki mini truck and that's about it. Most of the rest would go into maybe a tiny little green house for farming but primarily savings.

I am confused, was the last guys daughter and granddaughters deaths related to the lottery winnings? It just sounded like coincidence they passed. If thats the case he would of lost the relatives with or without the money, and depending on the reasoning his wife is leaving him may be as well. It all would of happened and he would not have the big winnings.

Nick does understand that just because you're a Publisher for a game doesn't mean that game's going to come out good, the developers still have to put in the work and that can result in a product that he might not like investing so much cash into, even if he were to have some kind of input on the project as a whole, the developers would still be the driving force behind the project, if the driver's asleep at the wheel then what good is all that invested cash going to do them if they fuck up anyway?
