This world is MUCH bigger than people think. There is also a huge story with comic books, the first one being around 15 years old if not even more. I hope there will be sequels as the characters goes way beyond just the dungeon itself in the main comic book story.

Great game, great story, great characters. Play it. I really like that all characters have unique personality so everything that happens is commented in their way. It's not always funny but a lot of is. But really why it allways has to be serious?

I had a ton of fun with this game. The story and dialogue are silly, although the colorful insults the elf and dwarf exchanged at every opportunity did always get a chuckle out of me. I can attest to the depth of the combat system. It has a crapton of mechanics and after the tutorial section the game expects you to understand them all or it'll chew you up and spit you back out. One thing that's never ceased to amaze me is how smart (or brutal) the AI seems to be. Put your elf in a sniping stance that raises her precision, damage and critical hit rate or on overwatch? Nearby enemies will happily sacrifice their action point in order sprint into melee range and force her to move. Or sacrifice an action point AND eat your opportunity attack in order to sprint and park their heavy hitter next to a weaker backliner, knowing that even though that character didn't get attacked THIS turn, they also won't be able to safely retreat without suffering an opportunity attack themselves. Charged your barbarian up to do big damage next turn? The enemy WILL move out of the way if they get a turn and if they don't, their buddies will pepper you with stun/knockdown attacks in an attempt to abort it. One of your characters ate one too many attacks and is low on health? The AI will agressively prioritize them in order to take them out of the fight and tilt the action economy in its favor. Revived the character after he or she got knocked out? The AI will go out of its way to put that character back down with extreme prejudice in order to maintain its upper hand. The game is very silly, but its encounters are deadly serious and the fact that the AI always seems to know what to do in order to gain a tactical advantage over you makes this a very good game if you're into turn-based tactical combat that require you to carefully consider your moves.

It helped that I read reviews before playing, so I knew what to expect. As I like immersive fantasy worlds, I knew not to expect that here and expect a bit of overdoing on silliness part. And it make it much more acceptable.

I finally started to play it. I love it even as I skip a lot of the dialogue. I like the fights! I hate that the characters do not heal up automatically after the fight. You always have to carry a lot of healing potions with you. No big deal but you have to remember to buy them. and I sometime even try to delay the end of a fight to heal one or two characters as the healing spells are only possible during the fight.

I had the opposite impression. I liked the tongue in cheek humor, but found the combat way too bogged down and convoluted. Everything was way too meticulous, and turn based combat is boring enough as it is. It shouldn't be more complex than character X uses ability Y on enemy Z so you can at least get a good flow going. In this game it's like character A moves across points B, C, and D to avoid being seen by enemy E. Then they face direction F and use ability H because they aren't in the proper position to use ability G.

Just like the witcher series sound better when played in polish, Naheulbeuk should be played in french: originally ( at the origins of time and space: 2001 ) it was a humourous d&d mp3 adventure, like 1950s radio shows. In Molière's language. That should fix your perfectly understandable american accents issue without unduly involving our albionese neighbours.

I'll skip this one. It looks interesting and I like strategic turn based BUT I can't stand micromanaging a party. I lack the patience to do so and I already know that I would rage quit over doing that.

what is over watch??!! i heard someone else talking about it in some other game review and i tried to look it up and... good luck with that. only thing that comes up is stuff about the "overwatch" game from blizzard, so after a while i just gave up. can somebody explain?

This game can be RIDICULOUSLY unfair, enemies with a ton of throwable abilities, endless spells, unfair mechanics that make enemies basically unfazed no matter the ability , it can be fun but that damn roulette gremlin is pissing me off to no end...why does the dam wheel spin even after his death? Just feels like the creators of this game get boners out of making the players life unbearable and unfair....when you have a 113% chance to strike and STILL have it dodges EVEN while striking from behind just made me end the game there....they can keep their unfair bs...ill just play something else

That's one of the game's systems. Your precision (and angle from which you attack) only determines whether you roll a miss or not. Once you roll a not-miss, THAT'S when the enemy's dodge chance gets factored in. And each time a dodge gets rolled, the dodge chance gets halved until the end of the turn. The "roulette gremlin" has a deliberately high dodge stat in order to force you to take down all his lackies first, so you can then surround him with your entire team, let your weaker characters hit first in order to wittle away his dodge stats and then let your heavier hitters beat him down.

But secondly button mash isn't a genre or mechanic. even games you'd generally prescribe button mashing to like fighting games, are only button mashy when you're bad at the game. I'd be curious what you even mean by that. Would you consider hades "button mash"? Regardless of any of that though, I'm just not into turn based games. I don't think this game shouldn't be turn based, Im just not into that type of game. It looks like a solid game for fans of that genre, not every game has to the type of game I enjoy. They have their audience and I respect that. I'm not the only one who feels this way, but there's also plenty of people who feel differently. There's nothing wrong with a game choosing their niche or audience.
