Duty was always an awesome faction. They are dedicated to neutralice or control the zone and prevent it's dangers to escape "the Zone" itself or expand.

No shit, I love Duty at the beginning, because in SoC out of all factions, Duty is the only one that able to create a safe haven for the Stalkers, and because of them, one of the most popular place also exist, which is 100 Rads bar, from the lore that I heard, sometimes a group or member of Duty might force Stalkers to hand them the artefacts they found, but I guess it's just a small amount of them, and usually they got the boot in an instant. Freedom also able to make a safe haven though, but their place is just not quite strategic so, yeah, they only able to guard the warehouse.

The only faction who are dedicated to actually doing something productive for not just the Zone, but to protect those outside of it. Everyone else acts like children looking for cool toys to play with, not realizing the greater impact of their actions outside the zone.

Freedomers and Loners were the ones actively fighting the Monolith at the barrier, while Duty contributed nothing. Not to mention that in spite of Freedom's importance in upholding the barrier, Duty was conducting raids on the Freedom base, destabilizing the region, barrier and putting the whole Zone at risk.

I feel like freedom would also be anti woke and so would the ward and likely most stalkers there are no rules in the zone except those the people enforce and not many are willing to die for something they don't believe in the zone embodies this. I feel like its bullshit that duty would have given up on rostok without a good fight even with the treaty. Only way i can see lore accurate duty losing is if freedom and ward attacked them at the same time in some kind of seige. Then again that would also explain why there are so few duty soldiers left.

Duty really did get boned by the developers. It really makes zero sense that they would lose in an outright fight with Freedom. But I have to say, despite their self-righteous shrieking, Freedom did get boned, too. They're kind of just there, overshadowed by the new Factions. Sure they supposedly, allegedly took Rostok, but I feel like that was more a gesture just to make them still feel relevant for older fans, when they really aren't. And none of the new Factions are nearly as interesting, though Freedom never had any degree of intrigue, but nonetheless.

Despite how many mutants they kill the Zone keeps existing and expanding. I agree though it does seem like the older factions have taken a back seat to the new ones. I fucking hate the Ward. Spark is batshit insane, the Corps is decently cool and as A Monolith Fanboi I enjoy Noontide and the Revamped Monolith. That being said Monolith is probably gonna fizzle out the next time they continue the time line
