It's really sad to see so many iconic voice actors pass away, and in such a short time. R.I.P. Kris Kristofferson and to the many others who are no longer with us.

A legend was lost, but will live on forever in the fork barbarian plushies sold statewide and the many terrible visits to Grandma Sparkle. While we enjoyed your pain in video games, the pain you were going through must have been unimaginable, for the curse of Grandma Sparkle got you outside of the Capital Wasteland. You will be missed Paul of Mitten Squad. Your many silly adventures will keep us all entertained forever while you discuss fallout lore with Matthew Perry. Rest in Peace, old friend.

You know what makes Kristofferson's passing even sadder? The man was a vocal opponent of many of the US' military interventions, especially the Gulf and Iraq war. And here he is, playing a jaded old ranger who not only vocally objects to his superiors' tactics but also tries to undermine their wasteful campaign in the hopes of preventing further bloodshed on their side. Chief Hanlon wasn't so much a role he played as he was a loose extension of himself, perhaps not in practice but most definitely in spirit. Rest easy, you legend. Thank you for everything.
@simonnachreiner83805 сағат бұрын
Oh thank God he was an anti-interventionist. For a moment I was worried he was an anti-korea/Vietnam activist. While the grassroots movement has good people in it the celebrity heads were all either directly on the payroll of the USSR or indirectly via the communist party of America... Actually scratch that he was in Hollywood so he absolutely was, just with at most three degrees of separation considering the CPA is elbow deep in Hollywood and no one made it anywhere being opposed to them. "The cinema is for us the most important of the arts,” Vladimir Lenin

We've been losing so many great ones lately.. whether in the Fallout VA community or even beyond it :c Aside from his voice acting, film acting, and music career, I was surprised to find out that Kris Kristofferson was actually from a military family, once having the rank of Captain in the Army, became a heli pilot, and even completed Ranger School So... fittingly enough, even in real life Mr. Kristofferson was Ranger-qualified through and through. There was no better man to voice Chief Hanlon, rest in peace Kris, may there be a lovely lake view for him in the afterlife

Not only Chief Hanlon. Kristofferson was a legend in the country music outlaw scene, both as an individual and as part of the supergroup The Highwaymen alongside Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Also played the trucker named "Rubber Duck" in 1978s Convoy

This is not what i remember him for honistly. But he did make one quote in ghost rider that stuck with me to this day. "They say the west was built on legends and that legends are a way of understanding things greater then our selfs. Events that defy explination. The thing about legends though is sometimes they are true." A quote that has ben with me sence i first saw the ending credits roll oh so long ago. Hard to beleve a simple quote like that solidifyed him in my mind. Hopefully this ghost rider finaly found redemption.
