I can't believe some of the comments following this video....True Bluegrass Fans recognize the heritage, pride, & history of the era of Bluegrass that the Earls of Leicester are pickin' & singin' for this generation to grow to Love. Do a little background history on this Super-Group and then maybe you'll see more than hats and bow- ties. 2 thumbs up, & 4 stars to the Earls for what I personally consider "Tru - Grass"...(GannPaw)

Ever hear The Grascals play "Sad Wind Sighs"? Check out the Opry performance with Vince Gill. First time i heard it, i thought "this is the way bluegrass is supposed to be played"

I just listened to the Grascals tune. Great talents for sure, but way to progressive to be traditional bluegrass. They sound very much like Alison Krauss, or tracks from Oh Brother" (and I loved that film). Either way, I'll take Lester and Earl.

Just saw Jerry Douglas play in Boothbay Maine unbelievable show and his guitar player is the most unique and talented picker. I’ve seen in many years.

If there was little more static on the record, it would be just like the Foggy Mountain Boys. Love it, keep up the good work.

Heard this last sunday on the weekly NPR bluegrass program. Didn't care much for it initially, but then they mentioned it was #1 in the Bluegrass charts right now and mentioned this group, who i'd previously not been aware of. Well i went to work and that catchy chorus was stuck in my head. Naturally, i had to listen to the song again when i got home- that is the only cure i know of to get a song off your mind when it's stuck on repeat in your head. Turns out, these guys aren't too bad and neither is this song. That's the only thing i can figure as im here again, listening to this song i thought i didnt like by a band i didn't know because it was stuck all afternoon in my head...well this and long black train by josh turner..... Go figure, who' a thunk it?

I feel like I could like them if they lost the silly outfits and hats. It just kind of gives off a rich 1920s white guy vibe.

Well they are a Flatt & Scruggs tribute band. Just dressing the part.
@hawaiiandobroblues

Yup. You have to remember when Flatt, Scruggs, Monroe etc were around this was considered simply a smart style. If it were not for that all the bluegrass bands would probably have ended up keeping to the hillbilly stereotype the business tried to force on them.

Also, until the 1960s or so, a hat was considered an essential part of dressing respectably for a man.

I know but there is something about it that I find a bit pretentious if you don't know the history behind it. I think it's the bow ties.
