For the engine heatsinks, to get the required amount, uninstall the current engine and the heatsinks in that cooling system will be returned, then you can install the new engine. For the double cooling system, you need the required heatsinks in your inventory. There are no "Cooling kits" on the market, just heatsinks. When you want to upgrade to a double cooling system, you have the required double heatsinks in your inventory, they are deducted from your inventory and a new system is built. This allows you to strip double cooling systems off mechs and use them as regular heatsinks. I'm lowering the MG impact sounds even more, will be in the next patch For the market, pay attention to the USILR codes on the system information panel. Planets with high industrial development will have higher tech equipment, while planets with high industrial output will have more of the equipment in quantity. Finally, engines survive if they have even 1 crit undamaged, so an XL engine can be repaired if it takes 3 crits still. I adopted the rules from Strategic Operations about that.

This is a great improvement. There is durability to support vehicles, which should not be made of paper like vanilla--no wonder they tank/heli spam when they are made of areogel. And those support vehicles have multiple armor locations, like they ought to. The sounds are finally impactful and location dependent to a degree--yeah a cockpit hit _should_ be loud. Fewer enemies but longer duels should be the rule and closer to proper BT experience (true in other forms and media). The vtols are still not as powerful as TT, for which you should be thankful. Awesome mod.... Sound effects ricochets.... Lol your reaction to them. The time to kill thing is ok if it's enjoyable to you it makes it more brawly like inner sphere tabletop where range like extreme range means less damage... Unless you are an elite with a gauss, er large or lrms you have to close range a bit. Armor means more... But maybe a little bit more towards the middle if that makes sense? Hmm depends on how effective the big close range weapons are ac20s etc.... And then gauss or er ppc in proper range bracket... I don't mind longer brawly missions 😁💪... And dual hatchet loader king for the win lol loader king whack-a-mole! A long time ago when I played tabletop I had a berserker with a really good pilot... Charge at the opposition's best pilot/mech take a full broadside and then he ejected because of the damage potential of a battle axe on a 100 tonner ahahaha!!!! Fear the axe to the face backed up by TSM and a 100 tons! Also I want to hear a battle cry in German 😁💪!

So a basic rundown of the stuff with Nexus, do a while they’ve been developing a “collections” system to allow modders to create mod collections that can be used to download the mods you need in a pinch. Unfortunately, however they developed this system, it seems that modders removing their files would not only break the collections that utilized those files, but (supposedly) come with even worse consequences for the people running the Nexus servers, something like that. So, Nexus did something rather rash: they gave modders the option to remove their files from Nexus until a set date (long since past), but from that point forward, any files modders wanted to remove would not get deleted, but archived; not freely downloadable, except for people using collections that need said files. There was no negotiation about this between Nexus and it’s modders, so many (and I don’t blame them) packed their things and went to ModDB, or other platforms. Of course, like I said, “basic” rundown, don’t try to argue for or against this situation on either side here, you’ll find more information elsewhere.

Do you prefer longer TTK? Been playing I with the extreme munitions damage model at 300% damage for all, trying to bring it in line with lore damage, ppc will one shot a light mech if it hits CT. Have also played with 50% damage for all and had minute long brawls with mediums. So far preferring lore TTK
@Nodjia2 жыл бұрын
@@Elluwrath I am probably not normal, but I like a little bit longer TTK model for two reasons that probably don't apply to every fight. 1) late game assault mechs and even some heavies have loadout capabilities that can one or two tap mediums with overwhelming alpha damage, which often feels disappointing from a gameplay perspective. After a while the player can begin to view anything other than another heavy as just a waste of time or a slog to get to "the good fights". We see this being overcorrected a bit in the creation of the deadly tanks mods that try to beef up all the random armored units to be more worthwhile opponents instead of fodder. 2) having a longer time to kill means that we get these more visually appealing "knife fights" between mechs where positioning and gyro stability and weapon reach or accuracy matter more than the vanilla experience where you just want to alpha something as quickly as possible and move on. It also makes armor feel weighty and meaningful since it has to be ground away slowly and precisely, or in a chaotic haphazard mess, rather than losing an entire side torso to one shot. Slowing down combat and making each unit more meaningful to a battle turns the vanilla experience on its head, because the devs basically only considered "more junk" as the way to scale combat difficulty instead of looking at higher quality individual fights. In my opinion, throwing 30 units at a single lance on a defence mission is both a childish way to tell a story, and a poor execution of difficulty. I guess I look at it the same way I look at some young writer's fanfiction, "and then after killing 10 super deadly guards, even more guards rush into the room, and then even more powerful guards come". With longer time to kill, you can have fewer individual units in a fight that feel more impactful and create that adrenaline rush for the player as they are trying to fight. This is all just my opinion though. Weapons should still feel weighty and impactful, but that goes into a whole rant about game design and aesthetic choices being carried over from the 80's that really should have been modernized. TL;DR - you know how some action movies the protagonist fights and kills like... 20 guys effortlessly but then struggles with the one skilled bad guy for a while, and the fight gets interesting. Longer time to kill with fewer enemies feels like more scenes with the skilled guy and less scenes with the useless fodder getting pasted. And I find that to be more compelling gameplay.

I don't usually keep extra lances and mechs on hand. I like the new sound effects a lot, the autocannon firing really sounds like a cannon, though I think the reloader would sound better a bit deeper and clunkier. The hatchets seem so good, I feel like it would be worth having on any mech just because it seems to stop you from taking arm damage on melee. That was mostly why I held off on swinging at enemies, I'd prefer to conserve my armor.

Just a thought, the RNG aspect of salvage is a crazy bad idea that provides no positive benefit and returns only disappointment to players. Going 100% salvage chance and using the Purchase Salvage mod (where you can buy over your salvage rights for increased cost) is a way better model, as you are going to be paying millions to fix the mechs anyways. Slow faction gain helps with that too, as it takes time to build up reputation points to increase your "free" salvage rights. (The only real issue is the sheer amount of free salvage rights you get. That should not include "general" rep points at 3 each, that's where the excessive salvage problem lies.) Just a thought for feeling like you have more decision-making power over your progression. I really like it myself, especially as you can tune the extra salvage costs to match the economy you're playing in.

The armor makes sense imo, it's just that you forgot that you also had *shitty weapons* at the beginning as well so... yeah. I also like the sounds of machine guns hitting the cockpit being loud, it gives it a bit of realism, after all, you're inside an armored *enclosed* cockpit, after all, it's like hiding inside a bell and asking someone to hit said bell. Except with you know, bullets traveling at high speeds. Also, that big bang you heard go off inside your cockpit sounds a lot like a big and heavy AC round hitting in or around your cockpit so yeah. Big gun makes big boomy sounds. For the loud weapon sounds, you might wanna up the in-game sounds by some then lower the game master volume or maybe do it using the PC's volume mixer.
